iPhone OS on a large touchscreen monitor
Everyone knows the iPhone OS is both beautiful and extremely functional on the relatively small (compared to a computer) screen. However, if you take that beauty on a 3.5 inch device and place it on a much large monitor, it looks even better. And that’s exactly what some creative guys did using a Mac Pro and a large touch screen monitor. It appears to work just as if it were on the iPhone, and it seems really awesome. iPhone gets physical keyboard, wants to be normal again
Many asked for it, but I’m sure this isn’t what they wanted. I’m talking about the iPhone with physical keyboard. I don’t know what you think, but after watching this video, I just feel as though this iPhone has been violated.
Of course, this isn’t a fair evaluation of a potential iPhone with physical keyboard. But if the new MacBooks are any indication of the future of Apple and buttons, then you can kiss that wish goodbye.

How to use a locked iPhone with firmware 2.0.2 [Security Issue] [Update]
Thanks to a tipper on the MacRumors forums, we now know how to access the rest of your iPhone even when locked with a password.
The hack requires that you have iPhone 2.0.2 installed, and have at least one favorite in your contacts list.
Instructions (and now, new info on this security hole straight from Apple) after the break.
I bet you wish your iPhone did this
If you have a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, you are accustomed to the Apple logo on the back of the screen. It lights up when the screen is on; using excess light from the screen itself to illuminate. What makes the iPhone any different? It’s a screen with an Apple logo behind it. Well, a crafty Russian modder has made the Apple logo on the iPhone as brilliant as some might see it.

3G iPhone: 22 countries served by 7/11, 70+ beyond that
During yesterday’s WWDC keynote, as most of you probably know, Steve announced the release of the 3G iPhone. During the announcement, he talked about a few issues that people had with iPhone 1.0. Those included 3G capabilities (covered), enterprise support (done), third party apps (got those too), affordability ($199 woohoo!!), and, finally, reaching more countries. more »
Video: What to do with your soon-to-be-outdated iPhone
With the imminent release of the 3G iPhone, I thought it may be helpful to provide some suggestions on what to do with your soon-to-be-outdated iPhone. YouTube user willgorman also seems to be having the same thought. In a recently posted video, he demonstrates how to turn an iPhone into a great little robot.
First, the intrepid DIYer wrote a simple program for the Lego NXT Robot using NXJ that enabled the machine to be controlled by certain colors. Then, he wrote a safari web app using the Google Web Toolkit to provide the color changes needed to control the robot. Once all the programing and building was complete, he put the iPhone on the machine and let ‘er rip using another iPhone to control it over WiFi.

Apple not opposed to iPhone hacks
If you happen to own an iPhone (and face it, not a lot of us do), you’ll have no doubt heard or even tried some of the 3rd-party native apps. It’s always been a gray area as to how Apple views these hacks (not only on the iPhone, but also on the Apple TV). Thank more »
Personalize your iPhone with iFuntastic
Not everyone enjoys hacking away at the command line to perform various tasks; bitSplit, an iPhone hacker obviously understands this because he’s created a nifty little app to change a lot of settings on the iPhone. These include ringtones, carrier logo and other little hacks. The entire app is presented in an easy-to-use panel, that more »
Write Access to iPhone filesystem obtained
What’s different with this iPhone? No, it doesn’t have an extra icon; Safari has simply been “snatched” up from the bottom bar. That’s right, iPhone hackers have managed to obtain write access to the handset’s filesystem. This is a major step in the quest to free the iPhone, from its evil masters: Apple and AT&T. more »
