iOS keychain system crack can expose passwords
I, for one, am all for jailbreaking iOS. Jailbreaking comes with many benefits and can be done for many legitimate purposes, although unfortunately it doesn’t always end up that way. A team of German researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute Secure Information Technology have successfully cracked iOS’ keychain system, allowing access to any and all passwords stored on an iDevice provided that it is jailbroken.
Apple says jailbreaking could crash cell towers
Apple is again trying to stop the jailbreaking of the iPhone despite launching their own App Store to compete with the abilities that jailbroken phones offer. While they at first said it was simply illegal, they are now attempting to show that it could bring down the cellular network. In their response to a possible DMCA exemption for jailbreaking iPhones, Apple has given numerous reasons as to how allowing jailbroken iPhones could destroy a network.
