Turns out there’s another feature you might not be fully familiar with in iPhone OS 3.0. It’s called auto-authentication, and if you live in the US, you may even care. AT&T has over 20,000 WiFi hotspots scattered across the globe (think McDonalds) and now your iPhone can access them, for free, with ease.
Gaming accessories coming to iPod touch and iPhone with OS 3.0
Today is the day when Apple will release the iPhone OS 3.0 upgrade, and on their iPod touch upgrade page they mention gaming accessories as being a new feature/option of the upgrade. Will the iPod touch (and by extension iPhone) finally be getting enough buttons for serious gaming?
An end to iPhone Store Madness: OS 3 has age settings
Besides the absolutely broken process of getting updates processed in a timely manner, the other biggest problem with the iPhone App Store is that Helen Lovejoy apparently ran the show: applications either had to be acceptable for children (fart noises not withstanding), or they couldn’t be sold at all. That meant that they couldn’t include words or pictures that a mysterious “someone” at Apple consider inappropriate.

This week’s biggest announcement was obviously Apple’s preview of iPhone OS 3.0. That said, other things happened. I had quite the experience with my new iPod shuffle, and Kirk has another old, hard-to-find Mac game that he wants you to dust off. And of course, our iPhone Podium stand winner!
