Rumor: Apple may release more iOS software updates by next week
According to German site Macerkopf, Apple may have plans for further software releases for their iOS devices in the near future. Macerkopf reports that Apple is prepping two separate software updates for the iOS 5, each trying to solve the problems with battery life in iOS devices. Citing an Apple engineer in the iOS division, Macerkopf states Apple has been looking more closely at the battery life problems that have plagued some users and will release an update no later than next week to fix those remaining issues.
Apple performing Siri tests on older iOS devices
Apple’s Siri voice activated personal assistant is currently exclusive to the iPhone 4S. Many owners of older iDevices devices were angered by this, but it should only be a matter of time before all iPhone 4 owners get a taste of Siri as well. According to rumors from Jailbreaknation, Apple is currently doing tests on Siri to run on older devices such as the iPhone 4.

iPhone 4S appears in Vodafone listing
We are only hours away from the Apple iPhone event, and leaks are still appearing online. This time around it’s an inventory listing on the German Vodafone website. The discovery was made by Phone-Ticker.de. According to them, the list turned up on a shop page on the website that shows bumpers for the iPhone 4 and the drop down list for the phones it supports. From the image above, one can clearly see it mentions the iPhone 4S and also the current iphone 4.

Rumors surrounding tomorrow’s Apple media event for the iPhone have been fairly mundane this time around. There has been little of substance, and what we have seen has been largely unimaginative. Further evidence of iPhone 4S found in iTunes Beta
Deep inside the iTunes 10.5 beta 9 that was released to developers few days ago, a few pieces of coding was discovered that found reference of an iPhone 4S. The discoveries were made by a developer who noticed in the .plist files on item 7 and Item 8 mentions of a black and white iPhone 4S by name. More evidence surfaced, as well, that new iphone 5 will be a dual-mode CDMA/GSM phone.
Apple sends invitations to October 4th iPhone media event
Looks like the next-generation iPhone(s) announcement is right around the corner, as Apple has started officially sending out invitations to an iPhone media event on October 4th at 10 a.m. PST, exactly one week from today. The tagline on the invitations is “Let’s talk iPhone.” Simple, yet effectively affirming this event will heavily focus on the iPhone.
Apple resetting iTunes Match iCloud data on Sept 26th
Friday, Apple started sending out e-mails to developers warning them their stored data on their iCloud libraries housing iTunes Match will be wiped-out on Monday, September 26th at 9AM PDT. This and the iCloud backup data reset on the 22nd have me believing the Apple is adding the finishing touches to the cloud storage system before the final release of the Golden Master (GM) version of iOS 5.
Sprint briefed employees ahead of iPhone launch [updated]
Previous reports from Wall Street Journal have suggested Apple will indeed release a Sprint iPhone (using their standard data plans) on Sprint—the only remaining carrier with unlimited data. Now, more clues regarding the Sprint iPhone 5 release date have surfaced. Sprint officials last week started briefing workers on an imminent launch of the iPhone 5, an anonymous Sprint salesperson claimed in a conversation with TUAW.
Regarding the October 4th iPhone 5 announcement rumors
Rumors of an iPhone 5 Apple event have been circulating for a while, but we haven’t had any concrete evidence of when will Apple will be holding the event…until now. According to AllThingsD.com, Apple will unveil it’s new iPhone by October 4th, and it will be made available for purchase a few weeks after the announcement.
