Rumors of iPhone OS 4.0 features emerge

Setting aside all possibilites of whether there even is a new version of the iPhone software to be released later this month, Boy Genius Report has details on what it will entail. According to their sources, this update brings some exciting new information. For one, multi touch gestures will be OS-wide on the device. However, even more exciting is the possibility of a “few new ways” to run applications in the background (for those of you wondering, this means multitasking!).

iPhone 3.0 First Look: Cut, Copy, and Paste

As any respectable Apple or iPhone fanboy would know by now, the 3.0 version of the iPhone OS Software has been officially released by Apple. One of the most prominent new features in this software version is cut, copy, and paste, a feature that has been long awaited for by many iPhone users. I’ll be the first to admit that it took Apple way too long to get this into such a powerful device, but I believe the extra time they took to create it payed off. It works really well, for the most part.

iPhone OS 3.0 now available

Apple has officially released iPhone OS 3.0. The software upgrade is available through iTunes for free for iPhone owners, and $9.95 for owners of the iPod touch. This update includes some of the features that many felt should have been part of the initial iPhone rollout, including cut, copy & paste, a landscape keyboard, and MMS functionality, but brings plenty of new and enhanced features, as well.

WWDC: iPhone 3.0 update, release date

At this years WWDC, Apple spilled some more information about the highly anticipated iPhone OS 3.0 announcement. We already knew plenty of information about this new software, but as usual, Apple had a couple of surprising announcements. Among them was the announcement that the iPhone 3.0 software will be available June 17th, about a week from today!

iPhone 3.0 software brings many features for better gaming

You’re probably well aware of the new iPhone 3.0 software that will be available in a few months. This update brings tons of promising features that will help to make the iPhone that much better than the competition. However, a few of the major updates for this new software offer promising features that game developers can use to make their games even better. Some of these features were expected to be announced by Apple, but other ones come as a great surprise in my opinion, and I can’t wait for them to be available.

iPhone 3.0: All the stuff that should have been there from the start?

Apple is not letting up on the surprises this March, bringing the new shuffles out of nowhere after a desktop refresh, and now announcing a sneak peek of iPhone 3.0. But what will iPhone 3.0 be? I’m sure there will be a couple new features, but I think most 3.0 enhancements will be under the hood, and the addition of features that have been notably missing for quite a while.

Apple updates iPhone firmware to version 2.2.1

It must be the day for Apple updates. First the MacBook, then iLife ’08 and iLife ’09, now the iPhone! Who knows, maybe that Apple TV update isn’t too far off. It seems like mostly bug fixes, no major updates. I wonder if this doesn’t have something to do with compatibility with iLife ’09? I say it’s likely. To get the update, connect your iPhone and go to its section in iTunes. Click “Check for Updates” and act like a yes man to all the prompts.

iPhone updated to Firmware 2.2 right on schedule

Just as rumored, Apple has released the 2.2 firmware update to the iPhone. The update includes all of the rumored features and more.

Swedish iPhone users get MMS, what about everyone else?

iPhone users in Sweden now have another reason to avoid jailbreaking their phone. One of the largest complaints about the iPhone worldwide is its lack of MMS, a feature that almost every phone has had for years. In Sweden, that complaint will be nonexistent within two months, according to Ben Olsson, a spokesperson for Telia, more »
