UStream Live Broadcaster brings live video streaming to iPhone, even over 3G

With the appearance of UStream Live Broadcaster (free) in the App Store, members of the UStream community will now be able to share, via the web, what they are doing while on the go. Much like the actual website, you have the opportunity to save your videos and mute the audio during and after the livestream. Furthermore, you can even post to Twitter right from the application to let your followers know you’re live streaming.

Joost for iPhone fixes a lot of problems

Joost, a video-streaming service that was part of the Big Convergence of Media (“watching TV on your computer” to you and me) launched an iPhone/iPod touch app last year that frankly speaking, stank. It was buggy and crashed a lot, and the nicest thing you could say about the interface was that it was horrid. Recently updated to version 1.1, the app has corrected many of the problems that plagued the first release, and while it’s still not the friendliest program in the world, it’s certainly far better than it was.

Qik website comes to iPhone, native app still a work in progress

For those of you eagerly awaiting the native Qik iPhone application to appear in the App Store so you don’t have to jailbreak, you will be very delighted to hear that some progress has been made with the overall process.

This week Qik announced a website specifically optimized for Safari Mobile on the iPhone that will allow iPhone users to watch Qik videos (unfortunately, not live streams yet).

Qik coming to the App Store

You heard right. For those of you who aren’t in the know, Qik is a live video streaming and chatting service. Currently, in order to use Qik on a mobile phone, you need to have a Nokia N95 (or other supported cell phone including, but not limited to, a jailbroken iPhone), but that is about to change.

Kevin Rose, one of my favorite semi-accurate sources of Apple rumors, posted a great short video to YouTube about the app that should be hitting the App Store soon. Some key points to listen for are that he expects the app to be free and that it will stream video (and chat) over WiFi or 3G but I’m guessing not EDGE.

Details and video after the break.
