Evouni Nano Fiber Pouch for iPhone/iPod review
Last week I reviewed Evouni’s Handmade Felt Pouch for iPhone. It’s nothing more than what it says—a pouch for your iPhone—and I really liked it. Now, I’m reviewing Evouni’s Nano Fiber Pouch for iPhone. It’s nothing more than what it says—a pouch for your iPhone—and I just don’t like it nearly as much. Hopefully I can explain why, because I’m not 100% sure myself.
Portable Sound Laboratories releases the iMainGo 2
In our coverage here at Appletell, we’ve seen many iDevice cases that serve many functions. They’ve been flashlights, they’ve been camera filters, they’ve been waterproof, and they’ve been more. But although we’ve seen cases that enhance the iPhone’s audio output, we’ve never seen one that’s an actual speaker system. Until now. Portable Sound Laboratories has released the iMainGo 2, protective case that “… turns your MP3 player into a powerful and portable speaker.”
iPod case product announcements
At their September 1st media event, Apple updated every iPod in the product line (save for the lonely, forgotten classic). That, of course, means new cases. Plenty of them. And the developers have been quick to issue press releases about that they’ll be making available, and when. As they come in, we’ll round them all up here so you can be ready to go when your new iPods touch, nano and/or shuffle arrive.
Appletell reviews Speck SeeThru case for iPod touch 2G
Speck, makers of the snappy cases for Macbook, has brought their stylish translucent wrappers to the iPod touch 2g (and iPhone). The short and sweet of it is that they come in an array of bright colors and have rubberized grips to prevent you from dropping it, but they have no protection for the screen itself, meaning the only thing it’s protecting is the finish on the back.
Appletell review – Proporta cases for iPod touch
While my new iPod touch is less susceptible to scratches than my old nano (which I believe I once nicked with my fingernail), it’s still something that you want to protect as you stick it in a pocket and travel around. And let’s be honest—while the iPod design has always been one of elegant simplicity, if you’re going to put it in a case, you want it to have a little style. Apple wisely didn’t step on any of the accessory makers’ toes when Apple started shipping some of its iPods with a “case” that was just a cloth sleeve. Accessories are a big part of the iPod experience, and if style is what you’re looking for, Porporta has that in spades.
All four of the cases I tested had a few features in common: they were well-designed and they didn’t block the dock port nor the volume rocker. None of them came with any kind of protection for the touch screen itself. Beyond that, their differences come down to a matter of personal preference; do you want a leather case or silicone? What color, or colors? Do you want to use your iPod case as a wallet, or do you want unfettered access to the touch screen? And how much are you willing to pay?

Speck offers Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for previous-gen iPhone/iPod/MacBook owners
Not all of us have the iPhone 3G or any of the new iPod designs. And, not all of us can expect to be getting them this holiday season. I mean, come on, there are Blu-ray players to buy. Flash Gordon figures. Games for the Wii (well, not really…the Wii’s holiday line-up is severely lacking this year). Thankfully, people like us haven’t been forgotten by everyone. For proof, turn to Speck, who have announced an amazing 25% to 75% sale on all of their products for the previous-generation iPhone, iPod and MacBook lines.
Starting today and running thru the end of the year, Speck is offering the following deals exclusively at their website:
Found – Hama iPod nano 4G cases
On the floor of the IFA, Engadget Spanish discovered a certain iPod case that seems to prove those Kevin Rose rumors. Looks like the Dark Tipper wasn’t lying after all. On a massive wall with thousands upon thousands of iPod accessories, a single case from Hama, a British company, was pecked out. The case says “For iPod nano 4G” (pictured above), and if a real item is a fake, then somebody really put a lot of money into pulling a prank on the iPod-loving community. It carries the rounded shape that was predicted by Mr. Digg, and seems to fit the dimensions shown in other iPod nano document that have been released.
From the information we received from Kevin Rose, and now this, a new iPod nano is all but confirmed. However, especially with Apple, the minor details are always still in the air, so check back here for more as it happens, especially on (the rumored d-day) September 9th.
Check out another pic after the jump.

iMac, Jr.
No, this isn’t really a new iMac. It’s a great (and very cute) new stand for your iPod touch called the iClooly (anyone want to translate?), made by RockRidgeSound. Though I would buy it just for the iMac-esqueness, it also has functionality. The stand holds your iPod Touch while you are watching videos, viewing pictures, more »
