Rumor: seventh-generation iPod nano to feature a camera?

Apple seems to quite like adding cameras to their portable devices, with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad all sporting at least one. Now it seems the ability to take photos on the move could spread to the second-smallest iPod in the family: the iPod nano. The latest rumors suggest we could see a seventh-generation nano being available in the coming months, with a camera. It wouldn’t be the first time the iPod nano has had a camera, either.

Apple September Media Event live blog

Apple’s kicking off the month of September with a media event today, and Appletell will be covering it live right here. To be fair, you may not need us this time, as Apple is running their own live stream of the event. But maybe you’re at work and you can’t run the audio, or maybe you just enjoy the industry insight and clever witticisms of your Appletell bloggers. Whatever your reason, be sure to check in with us at 1:00 p.m. EDT (10:00 a.m. PDT) for live coverage and in-depth follow up articles.

Apple to live stream tomorrow’s special event

No joke. Apple has announced that they’ll be providing a live video stream of tomorrow’s special event starting at 10:00 AM PDT on Apple.com. But there’s a catch, you’ll need to have an iDevice with iOS 3.0+ or Mac computer running Snow Leopard with Safari to watch. No problem, right? There’s a first time for everything, I suppose.

Apple Special Event possible during week of September 7th

You’ve been waiting, and now you have to wait just a little longer…maybe. The guys over at AllThingsD have heard from music industry sources that Apple executives have told them the company will be holding a keynote event for the week of September 7th. Honestly, this isn’t that big of a surprise. Heck, it’s almost tradition for Apple to tease us with rumors all summer and then hold a special event after Labor Day.

iPod nano rumor: 5th gen model to include a camera?

I have no idea who these Uxsight people are, but they sure have become a fun source for ridiculous rumors. A couple weeks ago, they started taking pre-orders for a case for the unannounced 3rd gen iPod touch, complete with opening for a possible camera. Now, they’re selling a case for an unannounced 5th gen iPod nano, complete with…guess what. Yep, an opening for a possible camera. Come on, Uxsight, it’s like you aren’t even trying anymore.

Banners for Apple’s Let’s Rock event are up and ready to rock!

As the day draws closer, Apple continues to make preparations for its Let’s Rock special event. Apple has now put up a banner on the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco where the event is to be held.

The banner is in typical Apple style with a dancing person’s silhouette on a colorful background, with an iPod of course. This is clearly truth in advertising, I mean, I can’t not dance when I turn on my iPod. Who can resist? The technology just moves me!

Why wait for the new iPod nano when you can get a fake one?

Now this is a new idea. Instead of waiting for Apple to release a new iPod nano, some enterprising Chinese company already has a knock-off based upon the rumors of the nano redesign.

The pics of the fake look a lot like the supposed iPod nano 4G renders that were found on the internet. In fact, this device may be what was depicted in those renders since they didn’t have a dock connecter, but a standard USB type B port. So, I think it’s safe to say that particular rumor is dead, even though it is very similar to all of the other iPod nano rumblings.

Check out the fake after the break.

Is this what the new iPod nano and iPod touch look like?

It seems that Alibaba.com has a listing for a “Screen Protector for iPod Nano 4th Gen,” and, potentially far more interesting, a picture of the rumored device.

This lines up with pretty much all of the current rumors for the new iPod nano 4th Gen. It has a click wheel and dock connecter, like we’ve come to expect. This picture appears to suggest the body of the device will be curved, but it looks as if the screen is flat. The screen also seems to be taller, making widescreen video much easier to watch.

Details, and news on the 2nd gen iPod touch, after the break.

Dimensions for rumored iPod nano 4G and iPod touch 2G

iLounge has scraped up some details about the much rumored new iPods that may be coming our way September 9th Apple event.

We’ve reported on rumored dimensions for the new iPod nano before, but this is a first for the iPod touch 2G rumor.

Check out details on the new iPods after the break.

Apple Special Event planned for September 9th? [Update]

MacRumors is collecting some rumors in one article about a possible date for Apple’s next new product announcement. All sources seem to converge on September 9th.

Originally, MacRumors had listed this event as an unverified rumor and didn’t pay a lot of attention to it. But since Kevin Rose, ArsTechnica, and Brian Lam from Gizmodo have all voiced their info and have pretty much agreed on September 9th, they, and we, are paying a little more attention.

Find out to what else the rumors point after the break.
