NYT: Apple experimenting with wearable ipod with Siri functionality
The New York Times is reporting that Apple is secretly working in a prototype device that can be worn as a wrist-strap watch. According to sources within the company, the “… new curved-glass iPod that would wrap around the wrist,” will have the built-in functionality of Siri, allowing users to control the device with their voice. The inspiration seems to come from third-party accessories that make wrist watches of the iPod nano.
Rumor: seventh-generation iPod nano to feature a camera?
Apple seems to quite like adding cameras to their portable devices, with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad all sporting at least one. Now it seems the ability to take photos on the move could spread to the second-smallest iPod in the family: the iPod nano. The latest rumors suggest we could see a seventh-generation nano being available in the coming months, with a camera. It wouldn’t be the first time the iPod nano has had a camera, either.
Tiny Apple touchscreen leaked, but what is it for?
Look what just popped up online. It’s a mystery Apple touchscreen smaller than any we’ve seen before. Could it be a redesigned iPod with touch controls, or maybe a new kind of mouse/touchpad? The display is reported as being 3cm by 3cm, giving it a diagonal measurement of 1.7 inches (love the mixing of units).
iPod touch with camera coming this spring?
I, like many others, was pretty bummed when the rumors about the flaw in the upcoming iPod touch camera prevented it from being produced this year. But time has passed, and apparently Apple is pretty close to fixing those issues. They may be ready to launch the iPod touch with camera in the spring. It’s still unknown whether this upgrade would include a 2 megapixel camera like the iPod nano or will have a nicer iPhone 3GS like camera.
Apple’s Black Friday to be surprisingly bright?
The BoyGeniusReport received a rumor earlier this week that claims to have the details on Apple’s Black Friday plans. The rumor contains a “leaked” image that displays all the deals for the day, which include up to 30% off iPods (excluding the iPhone and iPod shuffle), up to 25% off Macs, and up to 15% off accessories. The sale would only be valid for November 27th, 2009, and as far as I can gather, only in store (not online).

We’ll be running our live blog of the event as the announcements happen, and will update this page with more speculation and last minute rumors as they surface, so bookmark this page or just stick around until then.
Apple’s music-themed event confirmed for September 9th
Just as August draws to a close, Apple has made official their much rumored September 9th music themed event. As they have done in past years, Apple has released the image above announcing the event in the style of their ubiquitous iPod and iTunes advertisements. “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it” reads the image, quoting the Rolling Stones’ song.
iPod nano rumor: 5th gen model to include a camera?
I have no idea who these Uxsight people are, but they sure have become a fun source for ridiculous rumors. A couple weeks ago, they started taking pre-orders for a case for the unannounced 3rd gen iPod touch, complete with opening for a possible camera. Now, they’re selling a case for an unannounced 5th gen iPod nano, complete with…guess what. Yep, an opening for a possible camera. Come on, Uxsight, it’s like you aren’t even trying anymore.
