Appletell reviews the Case-Mate DIY Custom Case for iPhone and iPod touch
Colors, textures and artwork are used to set cases apart, so the smarter companies bring in some high level artists and designers to give the case some flair. What they don’t usually use, however, are photos of your kids. Or a vacation photo. Or that glistening spiderweb photo that won you a blue ribbon at the county fair. Case-Mate will help you out with their DIY Custom Case, and they’ll do it in a unique way.
Appletell review – iPod touch (2nd generation)
The most amazing thing about the iPod touch is the user interface, because, like all of Apple’s best products, it is both amazing and obvious. Well, obvious now that someone’s done it. Steve Jobs famously hates buttons on a mouse, and now he’s eliminated not only the buttons, but the mouse itself. You touch, you flick, you drag, you pinch, and the iPod doesn’t just obey, it reacts.
You might also be interested to know that it runs programs, too! So, how does the new iPod work as a, you know, iPod?
iPhone and iPod touch DFU mode DOA in new unibody MacBooks?
For the sake of jailbreakers and certain Dev Teams, we should all hope this is false, but rumor has it that the new unibody aluminum MacBooks cannot recognize the DFU mode required to jailbreak current iPhones and iPod touches. Some users in iPhone and iPod touch forums are reporting that their new laptops will not more »
Get previous generation iPods on the cheap
At Apple’s recent Let’s Rock event, we saw the introduction of a few new iPods. First we had the bigger and cheaper iPod Classic, then the colorful new lineup of iPod nanos, and finally, redesigned and cheaper iPod Touch. Now, you may be up to forking over the big bucks for a fancier way to play your music, but if features aren’t a big deal, Apple’s got a deal for you.

The new iPod Touch, now with Bluetooth! [Update]
Well, I guess Apple snuck another one past everyone. The new iPod touch not only has a speaker, volume controls, curved back, and a slimmer profile, it also has bluetooth.
Well…kind of.
Find out what I mean after the break.
New iPod touch, no GPS?
I for one was really hoping for GPS in the new iPod Touch, but it seems that didn’t make Apple’s list of necessary updates. Actually, not a whole lot has changed since the device’s first generation.
What did make the update list was a thinner case, yes, thinner. Just when you thought the iPod touch was anorexic, they make it thinner! And somehow they managed to fit a speaker in there, with volume controls. Still no mic though. It’s curved, like its brother the iPhone 3G.

Is this what the new iPod nano and iPod touch look like?
It seems that Alibaba.com has a listing for a “Screen Protector for iPod Nano 4th Gen,” and, potentially far more interesting, a picture of the rumored device.
This lines up with pretty much all of the current rumors for the new iPod nano 4th Gen. It has a click wheel and dock connecter, like we’ve come to expect. This picture appears to suggest the body of the device will be curved, but it looks as if the screen is flat. The screen also seems to be taller, making widescreen video much easier to watch.
