It’s a busy and expensive time of year. I know that, you know that, and, thankfully, iDevice app and accessory developers know that, too. As such, plenty of sales are being offered up. Whether you’re looking for good accessory deals for gifts or just some even less expensive apps for your own use, we’ll be rounding up the sales right her throughout the holiday season. Check back often.
Turn your iDevice into an HD action sports cam
Remember when you were thinking you really wish you could film your bicycle courier route so you can watch it again from home to see if you can improve your delivery time? Have at it. Optrix has unveiled the weatherproof HD Sport Mount, which turns your iPhone 4, 4S and iPod touch into an action sports camera. Combined with the iPhone 4S image stabilizing capabilities, Optrix captures “… stunning video in all environments possible, from extreme racing to a relaxing day at the pool.”
PowerSkin Gaming Case enhances iOS gaming in just about every way
The worst thing about iDevice gaming, of course, is holding the iPhone or iPod touch. They’re just not designed for a comfortable grip, and most cases only exacerbate the problem for prolonged gaming sessions. But not the PowerSkin. It not only provides a more ergonomic hold, it also extends your gaming time by up to 10 hours…for those really long sessions with Zenonia 3, I guess.
Helo TC iDevice controlled helicopter review
I’m not quite sure what’s the appeal of flying things around my living room. There’s a limited fly zone, and exceeding those boundaries could result in damage to some very expensive equipment and decorations. And yet, testing Griffin’s iDevice controlled Helo TC was quite fun…for about 12 minutes; that’s all the longer a charge lasts. A large part of the appeal comes from the fact that I’m flying a physical helicopter with my iPhone 4.
iRiffPort guitar input for iPhone, iPad review
iRiffPort is an instrument to iPod/iPhone/iPad connector that lets the user/player turn an iOS device into an effects processor. The iRiffPort connections allow you to use the setup with earphones/ear buds so you can keep the music to yourself or to plug into external speakers and annoy the neighbors. I didn’t really turn up my amp enough to annoy my neighbors; let’s just say the sound filled the room thoroughly.
Microvision SHOWWX+ Pico Projector Review
If you’re in the market for a pico projector and are not limited by price, then look no further than Microvision. They make quite possibly the world’s best and coolest pico projects. Why’s that? One simple reason. Lasers. Microvision pico projectors use lasers to project an image that holds up surprisingly well at some pretty impressive sizes, given dark environments. But that’s not all…
iHome iA63 Radio/Speaker for iPhone/iPod touch review
The iHome iA63 is a fantastic speaker/dock for the iPhone and iPod touch that really does it all. In addition to being a compact sound system that charges every version of those devices, it’s got an FM radio and is an alarm clock with built-in functionality to let you drift off to sleep listening to music. But iHome has taken it two steps further by creating apps that let your iDevice interact with the iA63, controlling and expanding its functionality, or working as standalone apps when you’re away from home.
