Apple in discussions for iTunes Store to go 24-bit

CNN is reporting that Apple and other digital music retailers are currently negotiating with numerous record labels to gain access to 24-bit quality audio content. This would mean that Apple would have access to audio content at the same level of quality at which it was recorded. But will you be able to tell the difference? Here’s how music gets to you today…

Rumor: Beatles on iTunes…really, for real, they mean it this time

If the heiress of John Lennon is to be believed (that’s Yoko Ono), then tomorrow’s special event might finally bring the Beatles to iTunes. Yoko’s comment made a brief appearance on Sky News and then quickly vanished thanks to the powers that be. The only remaining evidence is thanks to some quick eyes at 9to5Mac and a partial Google cache. Just to balance it out a bit, The Financial Times is reporting just the opposite.

The BoyGeniousReport has some screenshot to go along with recent rumors surrounding iTunes 9. If you don’t recall, the update is supposed to add support for sharable playlists via Facebook integration, 3rd party devices (seriously?) and Blu-Ray playback.
