CES 2012: Protect your tech with Hex’s Fleet Collection for iPad, MacBook

HEX Fleet Collection

Hex doesn’t simply release new bags and sleeves, they release new lines of bags and sleeves. Such is the case with their Fleet Collection, a 12-piece laptop and tablet accessory line making its debut at CES 2012. Each Fleet bag features charcoal and white pinstripe canvas fabrication, custom-printed lining and contrasting tan genuine leather zipper pulls and leatherette trim detailing.

Acme Made Clutch Case for MacBook Air/Pro review

The Acme Made Clutch case is an attractively styled but also surprisingly practical solution for protecting your 13-inch MacBook Pro or MacBook Air from bumps, scratches and abrasion while in transit. Looking more like a portfolio than a computer case, the Clutch features a softly quilted nylon twill interior encapsulated by a designer-coated canvas exterior with polyurethane faux leather trim details.

Appletell reviews the Be.ez LE rush notebook bag

Never heard of Be.ez? That’ll “be easy” to fix, because now you have. Actually, they’ve been making bags and notebook protectors for a while now. They’ve just announced their new line of notebook bags specifically designed for MacBooks with protection and style in mind. The LE rush bag comes in three color schemes, is available in 13 and 15″ models, and is constructed of durable nylon.

Appletell reviews Speck SeeThru and PortPack Shoulder Bag for MacBooks

I’m fairly certain there was a time when a single laptop bag was enough. But these days, laptops have become light enough that people are willing to carry them places they haven’t before, and they’re common enough to be used in classrooms, kitchens and restaurants. So, you not only need a case or bag to carry the laptop around, but you also need a protective case to keep it free from scratches and scuffs when in use. A good place to turn to take care of both is Speck.

Appletell reviews Speck CorePack notebook bag (video)

In for review is a new bag from Speck called the CorePack Notebook Bag. This is a large bag with room for up to a 15 inch laptop and pretty much all of the gadgets and electronics you would need to carry with you…and a few you don’t. Now that I’ve been carrying this bag around for a while, it’s time for a review. But first, I need to admit that after getting this bag I almost completely lost all interest in it.

Speck to introduce new notebook backpacks, bags and sleeves at Macworld

Speck Products, developers of cases for numerous consumer electronics devices (including the iPod, iPhone and Apple laptops, of course), will introduce a new line of laptop cases at both Macworld Expo and CES in the coming week. The four new packs will launch in two distinct colors—Speakeasy Black Pinstripe with robin’s egg blue interior and Coffeehouse Brown Plaid with desert tan interior—and are “… aptly named for their unique form, function and styling.”

Appletell review – Racer-X laptop case [updated]

To look at the Racer-X laptop bag from WaterField, you wouldn’t think it would run upwards of $190. In fact, when I showed it to a colleague of mine, he said just that; “It’s not worth it.” But he doesn’t speak for all of us. First, he’s a PC user, and that’s a different mindset than those of us protecting the more expensive Apple laptops. Second, he made the comment based solely on the outward appearance of the Racer-X. And whereas it is sharp looking, it’s mostly canvas, not leather. It’s not a hard case. It doesn’t offer a locking mechanism. So, what does the Racer-X feature to justify the premium cost? Quite a bit, actually. Quite a bit.
