Appletell reviews The Movies: Superstar Edition for Mac

Understand that if you own The Movies and the Stunts & Effects Expansion Pack, there’s nothing here to justify buying this edition. You’ve already got what you need, so have fun. In fact, if you have The Movies but don’t have the expansion pack, you still shouldn’t buy this. Cheaper to just get the expansion. Rather, this is a box for those who have neither, which is a shame, because this really is a fun, engaging, and surprisingly creative game.

Appletells reviews Black and White 2 for Mac OS X

I hated the original Black and White. I found it to be a God game where you were the servant of the people, with confusing controls that were focused solely on rubbing cow tummies. Something has changed with Black and White 2 (BW2), and it’s probably me, because the game remains unchanged; you play a God who has to guide his people to dominance, either by military conquest (Evil and “black”) or by building a civilization so resplendant that your enemies will join you willinging (Good and “white”).

Feral demos Indiana Jones, see things in Black and White

As Gamertell reported earlier today, Feral Interactive has announced that Black and White 2 will finally be released on January 6th at Macworld Expo 2009. If you don’t feel like waiting that long, however, you can sample some gaming goodness in the form of the LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures demo, which is now available from the Feral website.

Appletell review – The Movies: Stunts and Effects

With the release of The Movies: Stunts and Effects, your virtual films can now be even cooler…well, provided you feel that stunts and effects are cool to begin with. The romantic comedy types may not need this, but those who share my belief that every single movie ever made could’ve been enhanced with a prolonged sword fighting skeleton scene (especially all those Jennifer Lopez movies that weren’t called The Cell) will find plenty to enjoy here.

Well, plenty to enjoy outside of sword fighting skeletons, anyway, which aren’t included. Maybe they should get an expansion pack of their own?

Jump past the break to find out what is included in this expansion pack for Feral Interactive’s acclaimed sim game: The Movies

Appletell Review – Fable: The Lost Chapters for Macintosh

It’s not long into Fable: The Lost Chapters before you realize you’re in for something different. As if the words “Action/RPG” aren’t already enough to warm the soul of Mac gamers everywhere (oh, we’ve tasted action and we’ve tasted RPGs, but we rarely have them served in the same meal), the dramatic conclusion to the otherwise light and cartoony introduction will let you know that maybe this game is special.

And it is.

Find out why after the break.
