Apple issued a statement today that more than 100 million app downloads were generated from the Mac App Store since its debut on January 6th, 2011. Mac owners can easily access the Mac App Store via OS X Snow Leopard and OS X Lion, and all that’s required is an iTunes account in order to download or purchase software. Apple’s promise was mainly to make it an easier way to browse, install and maintain apps for OS X, and that seems to have been a success.

If you aren’t already using Evernote, there’s a fairly decent chance you don’t write much. Evernote has just made available version 2.0 of their fantastic note editing and syncing service. What’s new? How about notebook sharing, notebook stacks, a redesigned left panel, and the ever popular “more great features.” Let’s have a quick look at the new features shan’t we?

When you first get your Mac, you may notice that nothing really starts up when you turn your computer on. This is nice because it cuts down on the time needed to boot the computer and start using it. However, you may want applications such as Mail and iTunes to open when you boot your Mac so you can see your unread messages count or start listening to music right away. Instead of manually launching these each time, Apple makes it really easy to have them launch automatically.

Some applications, or even some ideas, just make you want to write about them. They make you grab that (virtual) pencil and put down your opinion for the world to read. Bodega is one such application. The team responsible for this new product (IDFusion Software and Centrix.ca) aims to solve one of the ancient problems of the Mac users developers community: application search and distribution.
