OS X 10.5.5 available now

Mac OS X 10.5.5 has been released and is available via the Software Update function.

The release notes outline updates to Address Book, Disk Utility and Directory Utility, iCal, Mobile Me, Mail, and Time Machine. Other general fixes are included.

Latest 10.5.5 seed shows fewer issues

Apple seems to be getting through builds of Mac OS X v10.5.5 pretty darn quick. Recent reports show that Apple has seeded two versions of the update, 9F25 and 9F29, within the last week. The same report shows that the number of fixes is rapidly decreasing, with only one remaining known bug.

The former of the two builds, 9F25, was rather insignificant, with no fixes and no known bugs. The second of the builds, in contrast, shows fixes having to do with issues with previously joined networks in AirPort, and issues with graphics frameworks. The only current known bug is an issue with searching messages in Mail.app.
