Apple patents pen-based tablet input
In the past, Apple had not been fond of stylus or pen-based input, but it seems that ignorance of the pen is nowhere to be found when it comes to tablets. This July, Apple filed a patent for pen-based input for tablets involving what they call “ink phrases.” The patent details a different approach to handwriting recognition; instead of breaking down individual strokes, it attempts to recognize entire phrases.
Apple finally to release tablet in 2010
Yes that’s right, that tablet you and I have been waiting on the past four years will have to wait just a little longer. If AppleInsider’s source is good (and I’m told he or she is) we can all expect an early 2010 delivery of the tablet of our dreams (or so we’ve been hoping). Apparently, Steve Jobs has been the major hold up with the realization of this device.
Rumors: A new iPhone, a 3G netbook and more
They can’t tell us “where or who, but [someone] pretty high up at AT&T’s food chain” decided to spill the beans on the next iPhone, which is, wait for the big shock…better, faster, stronger, complete with more hand gestures. Here are the unaltered details, straight from the source…
New iPhone models referenced in OS 3.0 beta
Seems our friend Steve Troughton-Smith is trying to make a name for himself. You might remember that he was the developer who successfully tethered his iPhone to his notebook after hacking around with iPhone OS 3.0 beta. Continuing from there, he’s now found five completely new device references in the beta OS. He believes them to be two new iPhone models, an iPod touch model and two other unknown devices.
Is Apple ready to show us the rumored Tablet at iPhone 3.0 event?
Speculation has it that Apple is ready to announce the tablet device we’ve all been hearing so much about lately during tomorrow’s iPhone 3.0 OS preview. Seth Weintraub, from Computerworld Blogs, has numerous reasons to believe that the rumored Apple tablet is in fact very closely related to the iPhone.
New MacBooks to have Nvidia Nside
If TUAW’s sources are to be believed then the upcoming MacBook’s coming from Apple may just have Nvidia graphic chips in them.
More after the break…
Brick teaser now, more info to come
9to5Mac claims to have received some information about Apple’s newest secret product, codename Brick. They say it best: We have received more information. This will be huge. Well, you can’t argue with that, now, can you? They say they’ll be elaborating on their information this weekend. For now, all they supply is the teaser pic more »
The Apple Brick, you couldn’t hope for much more than this
I’m going to start laying a wall with all these bricks I’ve been stumbling over for the past few days. I don’t mind though. If there’s one thing that gets me excited, it’s Apple rumors, and I bet you’re the same way.
Cult of Mac has a great article about what they, and I, want the Apple Brick to be. Be forewarned, this is just a dream. To the best of my knowledge, this is not even a rumor.
The article details a device, with pictures from a concept of the OLPC version 2 by Yves Behar, that is similar in some respects to a standard ultra portable laptop. It would open like a standard laptop, run a version of OS X, and have an Apple logo. But that’s where the similarities end.
Apple TV refresh also a possibility
I think a wrecking ball just broke through the ceiling of the building I’m sitting in, because bricks are flying everywhere. Hey, look up in the sky! It’s a MacBook Touch…no, a Mac Mini Pro…no, it’s an Apple TV!
Okay, so here’s another rumor to be taken with all that salt your doctor keeps telling you to cut back on. The Apple brick may actually be a refresh of the Apple TV.
Further confirmation of MacBook and MacBook Pro rumors
We’ve all heard about the refresh of MacBooks and MacBook Pros. The rumors have been flying, and it’s hard to not start believing at least some of them when they all go in the same direction.
As we reported earlier this afternoon, AppleInsider is adding to the rumors with their latest about the laptops. They say (from sources who admittedly don’t have a long track record) that the new laptops are going to share design inspirations from both the MacBook Air and the current iMac. This suggests that the new design will look something like the render above, only with tapered edges.
