Appletell reviews the Mobee Magic Charger

Apple’s Magic Mouse is quite possibly the best general purpose mouse on the market. Thanks to its multitouch top that can be utilized for any number of functions, it only needs one button to do the work of many. But there’s one thing missing, rechargeable batteries. Oddly enough, Apple chose to include good old fashion AA batteries with the Magic Mouse, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Mobee has released their Magic Mouse rechargeable battery solution, and it’s pretty cool.

Mobee announces Magic Charger to keep your Magic Mouse charged…magically

Sick of replacing batteries in your Magic Mouse? Disposable batteries really just make the process a little less, well, magical, don’t they? And rechargeables aren’t perfect either. Mobee would like to change all of that with their Magic Charger. It’s a wireless charging solution for the Magic Mouse that replaces the battery compartment and batteries with inductive rechargeables, making charging your Magic Mouse as simple as placing it on the recharge pad.

Appletell reviews MouseGuard for Magic Mouse

Whether you’re looking for something to protect the top surface of your Magic Mouse or you’re just sick of how your finger doesn’t always glide as nicely on its surface as you’d like, Moshi has just the product for you. It’s called the MouseGuard, and it doesn’t just protect your Magic Mouse, it makes it better. The idea behind the MouseGuard is very similar to a screen protector for an iDevice…

Apple releases its own batteries, charger

Apple’s wireless peripherals (keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and counting) eat through those AA batteries like nobody’s business. The one thing about Apple is that it does not pass up the opportunity to generate more revenue—it’s not the most valuable tech company for no reason, you know. And perhaps those two things together explain the announcement of Apple’s own rechargeable batteries and wall outlet charger.

Apple’s Magic Trackpad leaked before WWDC

Just hours before WWDC, Engadget has posted leaked pictures of yet another Apple surprise product, the Magic Trackpad. In the same style as Apple’s bluetooth keyboard, the Magic Trackpad appears to be a MacBook Pro’s multitouch trackpad in wireless form. This is quite an interesting set of pictures since we haven’t heard much of anything about a Magic Trackpad, but the logic is sound behind this product.

Magic Mouse: Apple’s Mice Sales Double

During the month of November, Apple doubled its mice sales, achieving 10 percent marketshare. This milestone is a first for Apple, and was likely because of the Magic Mouse. The Magic Mouse is a bluetooth mouse with new support for multitouch gestures such as swipe for scrolling and pinch for zoom. The mouse doesn’t have any real buttons, and is one surface using touch sensors. It retails for $69 US.

Five best Apple Christmas gifts for an Apple fanboy

Christmas is right around the corner, and we’re sure you have plenty of Apple fanboys in your circle of friends. If you’re looking for the perfect gift to get them at all prices levels, look no further. Apple has plenty of products to choose from, but we’ve tried to narrow it down to the best five this holiday season to purchase for that special someone.

Magic Mouse windows drivers and map enhancements available

The built in gestures for Apple’s Magic Mouse may not be enough for some users, and there is currently no way to create your own through Apple’s software. That said, a new little utility by the name of MouseWizard for Mac will “… give your Magic Mouse two extra buttons, ‘pinch’ and ‘bloat’ trackpad gestures, and special features such as ‘coverup’, to make your Mac go to sleep.”

Apple seeds Mac OS X 10.6.2 build 10C535 to developers

Yesterday, Apple seeded Mac OS X 10.6.2 to developers, a release which comes only one week after the previous build was seeded to developers for testing. According to reports, the new build focuses on graphics drivers, trackpad preferences and virtual machine creation, and continues to list that there are no known issues remaining. This information suggests that Apple is finishing up the 10.6.2 update and will release it to users in the near feature.

Apple’s Magic Mouse makes it to retail stores

The current word is that most Apple retail stores have received and begun to sell the new Magic Mouse. We reported earlier that Apple had started giving out shipping notices to customers who bought the Magic Mouse online. I haven’t actually gone to my local Apple retail store, but have also heard from friends that the new mice were there.
