Top ten reasons to buy Windows 7 (i.e. switch to Snow Leopard)

It’s widely known now that Windows 7 will be released on October 22nd of this year, and Mac OS X Snow Leopard will also come out to the public in September. Business Insider has posted an article with their “Ten Reasons Why People Will Upgrade To Windows 7.” And while I agree with most of the list, it is funny to think that Mac OS X has had many of these for a while.

Windows 7 to come in 6 different flavors; Microsoft still doesn’t get it

Microsoft’s highly anticipated Windows 7 operating system fixes many of the problems in the tragedy that is Vista. However, when it comes to one thing, Microsoft still doesn’t understand what they are doing. It has been announced that the Windows 7 SKU (stock keeping unit) will offer six different varieties of the operating system. Six!? Really, Microsoft, you had to chop up the features in your operating system and spend the time creating six different versions of it? If you ask me, this is one area where Microsoft really falls below the standard in producing software.

The Onion compares Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7

Neither Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Microsoft Windows 7 have been released to the public yet. They both promise to be a nice improvement from that last release of each OS and offer some interesting new capabilities. Despite not being on the market yet, The Onion decided that now would be a good time to compare them and see how they do against each other in some very important aspects. They have even created a nice, easy to read chart with their analysis.

Check that chart out after the break.
