GriffinStudioConnect

Musician’s looking for an all-in-one iPad instrument connection solution are about to get it with Griffin’s StudioConnect for iPad. It’s an iPad stand with Audio and MIDI Ins and Outs. You can connect your guitar or your keyboard, your bass or your electronic drums. It does it all. It even charges your iPad. If you’re just interested in the MIDI capabilities, Griffin’s MIDIConnect makes it easy to control GarageBand and other audio apps with your MIDI keyboard or other controller.

Akai announces SynthStation49 keyboard controller for iPad

If you’re looking for a USB/MIDI keyboard usable with an iPad, it’s your lucky day. Akai showed off their latest USB/MIDI keyboard, the SynthStation49 at NAMM this week. It takes advantage of iOS CoreMIDI to allow an iPad to provide the brains to its keys. That means you can drive many audio apps already available on the App Store. It also has nine MPC-style drum pads and transport controls for ultimate control. It might prove itself to be quite the useful tool for iOS based musicians when it’s available.

CES 2011: All about audio

I’ve been walking the show floor for three days now, and I think it’s time I told you all about the audio equipment I’ve been seeing on the show floor. The coming year is set to be a full of great new products that help you create and listen to music with your Mac and iOS devices. In this roundup, we’ll take a look at some of the best accessories, headphones, speakers and speaker docks.

CES 2010: The YouRock electronic guitar, midi and game controller

The YouRock guitar has nearly all the bases covered when it comes to guitar, from a real instrument to a game controller. The possibilities of this instrument/controller really blow my mind, and I’m imagining yours too. I have even heard that there’s an iPhone app coming, so I guess there will be an app for this sometime soon too. You can expect this thing to ship around summer time for $179 and the game carts for $20 each.
