iFixIt reveals inner workings of Apple’s new Magic Mouse
iFixIt is a widely known company that immediately gets their hands on Apple’s newest products solely to take them apart for our gratification. It’s no surprise, then, that they have already managed to do the same for the Magic Mouse just days after it hit the market. In their disassembly, the iFixIt team found the hardware to be held together by large amounts of glue versus screws. More interesting, though, was that they found the entire surface to be covered with touch sensors.
Apple Online Store goes down – are the rumors true?
It seems that John Gruber could, in fact, be correct with his ideas that Apple will release new iMacs, MacBooks (the white plastic model), Mac Minis, and of course a new Mighty Mouse. Almost as though he knew something, the Apple store has indeed gone down this morning, which leads to either maintenance (yeah, right) or the possibility of new toys from Apple.
Apple brimming with new computers and devices today?
Yes, it seems that Apple plans to refresh or update every product you already own in an attempt to make you lust for a new ones. We’re talking about new Mac Minis, iMacs and even a new iMouse! At least, that’s what the latest rumor says, and it’s all set to go down today.
Apple to release new multitouch mouse?
Apple Insider is reporting that Apple is preparing a new multitouch mouse for release, and that it will feature several improvement and changes from the current Mighty Mouse. “Apple’s next mouse is expected to do away with the Mighty Mouse’s problematic mechanical roller ball, using expanded touch sensitive housing and ‘multipoint touch detection mechanism’ technologies described in recent patent filings. “
A multitouch future for the Mighty Mouse?
MacBlogz has put together a fantastic article about what they think might be the future of the Mighty Mouse. This possible future is based upon numerous patents filed by Apple and some speculation.
The Mighty Mouse debuted in August of 2005, and has since received only a small design change in 2007. The Mighty Mouse has been and continues to be an amazing device, albeit with a few flaws. It’s Apple’s only multibutton mouse, though these buttons are simulated with touch sensitivity, save the squeeze activated button. Recent patents have expanded upon that touch sensitivity bringing it into the realm of multitouch.
Apple TV refresh also a possibility
I think a wrecking ball just broke through the ceiling of the building I’m sitting in, because bricks are flying everywhere. Hey, look up in the sky! It’s a MacBook Touch…no, a Mac Mini Pro…no, it’s an Apple TV!
Okay, so here’s another rumor to be taken with all that salt your doctor keeps telling you to cut back on. The Apple brick may actually be a refresh of the Apple TV.
Apple’s worst product to date; the Mighty Mouse
Apple is usually at the leading edge when it comes to great design and usability for their products, but it seems like they made a terrible exception for the Mighty Mouse. This little input device is probably one of the worst products I have ever used with a computer. It does look nice and the buttons on the sides are really helpful, but overall this device needs a lot of work.
Apple Sued Over Mighty Mouse Name
Man And Machine, a purveyor of peripherals for Hospitals and Labs, is suing Apple and CBS. Man and Machine claims that they started selling their “Mighty Mouse”, a chemical and water-resistant mouse, a year before Apple came out with their mouse with the same title. Man and Machine claims that when CBS sold the rights more »
