Garmin Tracker

Garmin International, Inc. is well known for their satellite navigation products, but their social apps? Integration with Wikipedia, Facebook and foursquare? Indeed, as “mobile lifestyles” will be their focus at Macworld | iWorld 2012 in San Francisco this Thursday through Saturday. Garmin will be showcasing a wide range of location-based apps for iOS spanning aviation, fitness, tracking treasure hunting and, of course, turn-by-turn navigation.

iPhone 4 Design Car Kit by NAVIGON review

There’s obviously no shortage of iPhone car mounting kits out there, and you know your needs better than I do. If those include a low profile mount that disappears behind your iPhone while perfectly cradling it, then you’ll get that in the iPhone 4 Design Car Kit by NAVIGON. But if you’re looking a system that supports multiple phone designs or enhances the signal, you’re not going to find that here.

Day two of Macworld Expo 2011 has come and gone, but don’t think we haven’t noticed. The NAVIGON iPhone Car Kit is designed to easily hold the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 so that it will reduce driver distraction and position the iPhone for better GPS reception by fixing it to the windshield. NAVIGON wants to put the focus on the iPhone and not on seeing the cradle itself. NAVIGON has also announced that they will be using INRIX to provide more comprehensive traffic information. INRIX uses real time traffic feeds and will allow NAVIGON to give you more routing options around congested areas thanks to a 76% increase in road coverage.

Navigon MobileNavigator North America GPS app giveaway

Within my lifetime, I’ve driven in two countries: The United States and Canada. Similarly, within my lifetime, I’ve been lost in two countries: The United States and Canada. I was without the benefit of Navigon’s MobileNavigator North America GPS app for the iPhone, but that need not be the case with you. Navigon has kindly offered us two free downloads of the North America version of their quite popular and well-reviewed MobileNavigator app, and suggested we pass them to along to you. So, we shall.

Half off Navigon Mobile Navigator GPS app

One year ago today Navigon’s Mobile Navigator debuted on the App Store. It’s arguably the best turn by turn guidance app available and the one that I consistently recommend. And it’s even easier to recommend it when they do something awesome like slash their prices by half across the board. That’s right, you can get any of Navigon’s Mobile Navigator apps or add-ins half off until August 15th.
