iPhone OS 3.1 plist reveals new Apple “iProd”?
The recently seeded iPhone OS 3.1 beta contains a particularly interesting plist file. In the “USBDeviceConfiguration.plist” file, lies a previously unseen device: the “iProd1,1.” This new name harkens back to a few months ago, when an “iPhone3,1″ appeared in a plist file. Months later, we were given the now-current iPhone model.
Apple tablet coming sooner than next year? Thanks to record labels?
The Financial Times is reporting that Apple is planning on releasing the long rumored “iTablet” device much sooner than next year as more recent rumors were pinpointing as the release date. No, apparently thanks to EMI, Sony Music, Warner Music and Universal Music Group, Apple will supposedly be releasing this device sometime around September.
What is next for the iPhone/Apple?
We have MMS, we have copy and paste, we have landscape mode. What is next? I have a few ideas, and of course there are plenty of rumors floating around. Let’s take a moment to go over some of the possibilities of video, office apps and a netbook.

Are we going to see a sub-notebook in January? I don’t think so. There are rumors on the internet that Steve is going to announce some kind of “netbook” or “sub-notebook,” however, you wish to refer to it. The device would have the same functionality as the MacBook Air, with a lot less processing power and storage. The current Apple line up of computers includes the MacBook (from $999), the MacBook Air (from $1,799), and the MacBook Pro (from $1,999).
Netbooks go Mac, MacBook Air looks even worse
You may be a Mac user. Hell, you may be a Mac fanatic. But admit it, you crave one of the many little netbooks floating around. I’ve been looking to buy one for almost a year, but new ones are churned out so quickly that I don’t have time to decide, let alone buy one. more »
