Netflix has updated their application for Apple’s iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, bringing with it an entire new interface for all iOS devices. The company will also be providing access to tons of television content, all of which will be available for streaming. In addition to those improvements, the new version fixes some “stability issues” and adds new region support for countries such as Canada and Latin America.

E3 2011: MicroVision showing off SHOWWX+ and accessories

Surely you’ve heard about Pico projectors by now. They are the tiny projectors that are great for portability, but somewhat lacking when it comes to brightness and overall picture quality. The exceptions to this rule are MicroVision Pico projectors. Their SHOWWX+ uses lasers to ensure a picture that’s always in focus, regardless of the surface being used as a screen. Not only does it connect to all of your favorite iOS devices directly, they have new accessories to go with it, like the iGrip swivel carrier.

Netflix updates iOS app with subtitle support

Today, Netflix updated their Universal iOS app for streaming Instant Watch content with support for subtitles (where available). Whether you’re watching something foreign, are hard of hearing or just think the book was better, the Netflix iOS app version 1.3 has you covered. It should be noted that not all Netflix content has subtitles to begin with, but if subtitles are available, you’ll see a caption icon on the playback controls.

Free apps roundup for October 8th, 2010

This week I found a plethora of free apps. And thankfully, they aren’t all the same type. There’s a social picture taking app, a few notable app updates, a utility, a travel guide, a few demos, a few limited time freebies, and more. Kiss boredom goodbye, because I’m sure you’ll be finding something past the break that will make it on to your home screen.

Apple’s iTV to stream Netflix

Apple has been rumored to be revamping the Apple TV during tomorrow’s special event, and now Bloomberg is attempting to add some details before that happens. Their sources say that Apple’s new set top box, possibly renamed the iTV, will support Netflix and its Instant Streaming service. What they don’t venture a guess to is how…

Free apps roundup for August 27th, 2010

Another great week for free apps on the app store. There are new utilities, games, tools, entertainment apps and more, so you can make music, watch movies and web shows, make real things look fake, and find out how long you have to finish cleaning the house before your relatives arrive, be it by car or by air. When they arrive, you can show them 3D fish teeth. For free!

iPhone Appidemic: Netflix

Netflix has finally made good on their promise to release a video app for the iPhone and iPod touch to match their early iPad offering. Now Netflix subscribers can stream their Watch Instantly shows to their handheld devices, as well as search and manage their queue. In addition to renting DVDs throuh the mail, Netflix has a large library of films and TV shows available to watch via streaming video. Subscribers to the service get unlimited access to as much of the “Watch Instantly” selections as they want.

Netflix app adds Instant Streaming support for iPhone and iPod touch

The latest update to the Netflix app is out with full support for Instant Watch on iPhone and iPod touch. That means you can access your Netflix account anywhere you have Internet access. The app allows you to find movies or TV shows on the go, add them to your queue, and now even stream any of the Instant Watch collection. I’m still uncertain how many people really want to stream a movie or TV show to their iPhone or iPod touch and actually watch it on the device.

Rumor: Apple to refresh Apple TV, add TV rentals for 99 cents

Rumors have been swirling around a potential Apple TV price drop to $99. In addition, we’ve also read Apple TV will stream content to users, instead of storing content locally. The last major rumor that’s been circulating is that it will, in the future, use a variation of the iOS software. But now, you can add this to that laundry list of rumors: TV show rentals for 99 cents a piece.
