Rumor: MacBook Pro and iMac refreshes by end of year
I’m more than a little skeptical of news that the MacBook Pro will get refreshed before the end of the year, especially since the rumor comes from on an unnamed source. However, “people with proven insight into Apple’s future product plans” state the new models will have faster processors, but little else. If you want the latest and greatest, I’d wait a month or two just in case this rumor turns out to be true.
Apple releases iMacs with faster processors, better graphics cards
The new iMacs sport the Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, meaning the archaic, low-end Core 2 Duo model is now history—the new low-end iMac has the Core i3 chip. Also, the iMac line now sports new graphics cards, all of which are dedicated GPUs. Done away with is NVIDIA, with Apple instead opting to put two flavors of the ATI Radeon HD GPU—the 4670 and 5670—in the iMacs. And if the processor and GPU difference wasn’t enough for you…
New touch screen rumors; 22″ touch iMac on the horizon?
As if the rumors surrounding the January 27th Apple event weren’t enough already, another one has surfaced for later this year. According to a Chinese publication accessed by DigiTimes, “Apple will outsource production of the 22-inch model to Quanta, with Taiwan-based Sintek Photronic supplying the touchscreen panels.” This certainly doesn’t sound like the rumored 10″ iTablet.
Apple updates the iMac
Along with several other updates, Apple gave some lovin’ to the all-in-one machine: the iMac. I believe it’s safe to say these updates have seriously improved the iMac. A few days ago, for serious computing, your best bet was probably the Mac Pro. Now, with up to 16GB of RAM and a 2TB hard drive, the iMac is not to be laughed at. And with a 27-inch widescreen beyond HD display, everything will look amazing.
Apple updates MacBooks, Mac Minis, iMacs and Magic Mouse
We have rumors gone true, folks. I like to call those trumors. Just as predicted, we have new unibody MacBooks (not Pro), Mac Minis (including a Server version), iMacs and the Magic Mouse. Quite a round of updates for Apple. I’m very surprised there wasn’t a press event or the like. Either way, I think Apple will be seeing a lot of our money today. Early details and photos past the jump.
Apple Online Store goes down – are the rumors true?
It seems that John Gruber could, in fact, be correct with his ideas that Apple will release new iMacs, MacBooks (the white plastic model), Mac Minis, and of course a new Mighty Mouse. Almost as though he knew something, the Apple store has indeed gone down this morning, which leads to either maintenance (yeah, right) or the possibility of new toys from Apple.
Apple brimming with new computers and devices today?
Yes, it seems that Apple plans to refresh or update every product you already own in an attempt to make you lust for a new ones. We’re talking about new Mac Minis, iMacs and even a new iMouse! At least, that’s what the latest rumor says, and it’s all set to go down today.
Apple quietly slips integrated graphics into the two lower end iMacs
iMacs have always been the cheapest way to get a full-powered machine from Apple. Any cheaper, and you have a MacBook with an integrated graphics card, or a Mac mini, with a generally inferior everything. But with this recent Apple desktop update, Apple has evened the playing field at all price points, something that more than a few customers may be annoyed about.
The new iMac: first look
Following on from the Mac mini, the iMac also received updates today. Though, at first glance, it seems nothing has changed. The updates today all have something in common—the changes are internal. The iMac’s seen some welcome changes, and you now have four options to choose from. Yes, four.
New Mac mini! New iMac! New Mac Pro!
The Apple store is back up, and pretty much every Macintosh that doesn’t have the word “Book” in it has received an upgrade. The Mac mini, iMac and Mac Pro all have new models at various price points, with the iMac seeing the most models (four). But were the Mac mini predictions right? Are there really five USB ports? HDMI? Well…yes, no, and just head inside for more.
