iPhone 4S available for pre-order, unlocked version coming

Today is iPhone 4S day, folks. After a few hours of downtime, the U.S. Apple Store are now accepting pre-orders. All three versions of the iPhone 4S from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are available for pre-order and will be shipped on October 12. Now, here’s something that came as quite a surprise; Apple is also giving an option for customers to get the unlocked version of the iPhone 4S this November.

Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event is just around the corner—finally—and as always, Appletell will be live blogging the event right here. After months of speculation regarding what’s next for the iPhone and when we’ll be seeing iOS 5, we’ll all finally know where this month’s paycheck will be going. To the iPhone 5? An iPhone 4S? “N94″ next-generation iPhone gains an FCC ID

With all of the rumors surrounding the next-generation iPhone(s), the ones regarding an iPhone code-named “N94″ are seemingly confirmed. This iPhone has gained a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ID of BCG-E2430A. The N94 iPhone is expected to be an “iPhone 4S,” so to speak, rather than a completely revamped iPhone 5. The two are rumored to be released simultaneously, marking the first time Apple has done so.

Possible next gen iPhone case pulled from trading website

A case supposedly created for the upcoming next-generation iPhone has gained some popularity and caused some hype after it was listed on an online trading web site called Alibaba. The legitimacy of the case cannot be certain, and is strictly a rumor until Apple proves otherwise. If it happens to be accurate, the case verifies the rumors for a relocated LED camera flash.

iPhone HD parts video leaked, more images

As if there weren’t enough leaked photos of the possible iPhone HD that will be launched at this year’s WWDC, this week has brought us even more. It started with an image of a reflection of the iPhone, then we were given a much more clear image followed by a possible white iPhone. This new image also displays a white iPhone but instead gives us a view of the back. However, there are even more images of iPhone parts past the break.

The iPhone 4G story: Mindless mistake or planted PR?

Gizmodo has made quite a commotion on the Internet with their purchase of a stolen/lost iPhone 4G (is that even what we should be calling it?) for a rumored 5K-10K. Whether this was actually stolen and then bought by Gizmodo or simply lost and then returned to Gizmodo for a price is up for debate, but there are plenty of other layers to this story that can be debated, as well.

New iPhone captured in the wild?

Getting proof of a new iPhone before release is akin to capturing photographic evidence of Bigfoot. Still, tech blog Gizmodo seems to think they’ve actually got their hands on the new iPhone. And unlike all those grainy Bigfoot images and video, they’ve got many crisp, clean photos and video to prove it. Is this the real deal? They think so, and who are we to question them? Especially when it comes with such intrigue.

Speculation of other possible Apple announcements January 27th

The January 27th Apple event promises to bring some fascinating and drool-worthy announcements for Apply fanboys world wide, especially when it comes to the rumored iTablet. However, as is common with Steve Jobs, there is anticipation of that famous “one more thing” to put us even further at the edge of our seat. Considering this has been the first Apple event in a while and the hype surrounding it is greater than usual, in my opinion, the chance of “one more thing” is quite likely.

WWDC: Apple announces the iPhone 3Gs, now with video

One of the most highly anticipated announcements at this year’s WWDC was the iPhone. As usual, Apple has delivered and announced the iPhone 3Gs where the “s” stands for speed. This iPhone looks pretty much the same on the outside and doesn’t have a front facing camera. That said, the camera on the back has been updated to a 3MP version that has auto-focus and auto-white balance. The camera can now also take video (30 fps) as well as stills.

WWDC rumor roundup

With the 2009 Worldwide Developers Conference less than a week away, there’s plenty of speculation of what new products Apple will announce (especially after the dud that was MacWorld Expo). Here’s a roundup of the latest speculation (Snow Leopard, iPhone, Mac Netbook, Mac Tablet, Stevenote) along with the liklihood of it happening.
