As expected, Apple updates its MacBook Pro Line

While we all wait for Apple to refresh the online Apple Store (down at press time), the new MacBook Pros are already showing up at the MacBook page on Apple.com. As expected, Apple is offering new models of the 13-, 15-, and 17-inch MacBook Pros. There are five new MacBook Pro models in all, and their prices ranges from $1,199 to $2,499. Here’s a quick look at the specs of the new MacBook Pros.

Apple’s new MacBook Pro – Unboxed

When Apple announced the new MacBook Pro, the first thing I did was order it. Instead of ordering the base configuration, I opted for the higher end MacBook Pro with a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of Ram and an upgraded 320GB 7200 rpm drive. I’m guessing that drive upgrade is the reason I received my notebook a week late. But no worries, I’m so happy it’s here that it doesn’t matter anymore. There is one last thing I have to do before I can start using my new notebook, and that of course, is the obligatory unboxing.

Take a peak inside Apple’s new notebooks

I know you. You’ve heard about the new MacBook and MacBook Pro, but that isn’t enough for you. No no, you, my friend, need more. You’ve got to see what’s inside the beast. It’s your lucky day since iFixIt doesn’t mind disassembling one of each of the above Apple notebooks. Sometimes, don’t you just wish you had a job like this guy’s over at iFixIt?

The unboxing, followed by uncasing of the MacBook Pro, contains a comparison of current and last generation models. Both picture sets actually give decent walkthroughs on the features of both machines. Plus, if you ever feel the need to rip apart your new machine, they detail every step they made to take theirs apart.

Leaked image of MacBook Pro?

Today on the MacRumors forums, a user posted this image that could be the case for the new MacBook Pro. As you can see, this goes along with the current aluminum brick manufacturing rumor since it looks to be a solid piece of aluminum. The holes for the speakers seem to be very small, and more »

Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pros Spotted?

AppleInsider reports that new MacBook and MacBook Pro models have been spotted by their sources, reassuring the fact that updates to the MacBook line are imminent. The upcoming MacBooks are said to have the same screen sizes as the current ones: 13, 15 and 17 inches. They apparently share a similar aluminium design—”as if they more »

My Hopes for a Notebook Refresh

With the possibility of an event to announce a refreshed Apple Notebook line, there have been a few rumors flying around about what to expect. Some of them are fairly believable, but MacBook rumors aren’t. Keep in mind that this is not a prediction, merely what I would like to see, no matter how unlikely it may be.

Apple planning October event to update computers?

At yesterday’s Let’s Rock event, the focus was, as expected, 100% music. There was some hope that Steve would pull one of his famous “One more thing…” speeches and whip out a couple of new MacBooks, MacBook Airs, and MacBook pros. There were also more rumors that said notebooks would half to wait until closer to the holiday season, and recent reports show that this rumor may come to fruition.

According to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, an insider at Apple has informed him of an event that has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 14th.

Leaked MacBook Pro ad not from Apple, but still probably spot-on

The “leaked” MacBook Pro ad that’s been circulating the internet is a fake, it’s been confirmed. A MacRumors forum member with the handle mciarlo posted the mockup to the forums on Friday, in the thread “Macbook Pro to be left without a re-design?”
