Apple Store is down, is this the new iPhone?

We’re a half hour away from Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event, and the online Apple Store is now closed with the familiar “We’ll be back soon” sticky note. When it comes back up, will we all be ordering our new iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S? Both? How about the possibility of a new iPod touch or even a MacBook Air refresh? We’ll have to wait until later this afternoon to find out.

Apple drops price of refurbished 1st gen iPads

Apple has dropped the price on its 1st generation 16GB Wi-Fi iPad (model number MB292LL/A) to just $299 with free shipping, $184 under the lowest price available for a brand new iPad, and the lowest price an iPad has ever been. Unfortunately, the 16GB model is now out of stock. However, The Wi-Fi 32GB 1st gen iPad (model number MB293LL/A) has also been dropped down to $399, carrying a 1-year warranty from Apple, just as with brand new iPads.

Apple limits some software to online Apple Store

Effective July 20th, Apple Computer has made some of its software available only through the online Apple Store. In addition, Apple has stopped preinstalled, configured-to-order software from both the Apple Store for Retailers and the online Apple Store. If you want to buy Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server, iLife, iWork, Aperture, and Apple Remote Desktop you have to buy them through the online Apple Store.

Online Apple Store is down – just maintenance?

It seems that once again the online Apple Store is down, on a Sunday too. Since it’s only a few weeks since Apple’s latest media event, it’s unlikely that any product updates will appear – it’s more plausible to simply be maintenance updates. Still, the Apple TV has seen slight changes recently…

For those about to rock, the online Apple Store is down

Whenever Apple has a press event, you have to expect the Apple Store to be down. It is now, leaving Apple fanboys everywhere desperately trying to peek beyond the newspaper covered windows to see what’s going on inside. New iPods? An Apple TV update? Counter harmonies and french horns? We’ll find out soon enough, so until the press event starts, freshen up on what today’s even may have in store by reading our rumor roundup.

The online Apple Store is down…of course

Here we are, the morning of the WWDC Keynote, and the Apple Store has been taken offline for a bit. What do you suppose will be in there when it comes back up? A new iPhone? Snow Leopard? The fabled Apple Netbook? It won’t be long before we find out, and you can learn all about it right here at Appletell as it happens.

Apple Store down on a Sunday? [updated]

It looks as though the Apple Store is down again, but the question, is what for? My guess is that they’re conducting maintenance updates to the site. If they have to do it at some point, and it can’t wait until the store goes down at WWDC, then a Sunday afternoon seems like a good bet.

Apple Store is down again…already?

I arrived at work this morning to discover that the online Apple Store is down again. That can only mean one thing…the Apple Netbook! Actually, it can mean many things, most likely of which is that there’s some internal maintenance going on. It could also be that another price/spec change is in the works, but I can’t imagine it’s anything more than that. Apple just last week announced the new Mac mini, iMac and Mac Pro, and there’s really nothing else that’s begging for a refresh at this time.

Apple discontinues the 23 inch Cinema Display

Today, Apple quietly discontinued the 23 inch Cinema Display. This was expected considering it’s basically being replaced by the new 24 inch Cinema Display. The Apple Online Store lists the display’s shipping status as Discontinued. On a more positive note, the shipping is still free. The newer 24 inch Cinema Display has the new Display more »

Online Apple Store closed; employees out “rocking”

As is typical before an Apple product announcement, the online Apple Store is temporarily closed, and will undoubtedly be right back up the moment Apple stops rocking the live event. The question is, then, what will be in the store when it comes back up? The new iPod nano? An updated iPod touch? New MacBooks more »
