OS X Lion will support native virtualization
The release of the OS X Lion GM yesterday brought with it a new feature for what used to be only available for Server editions of OS X starting with Leopard: native virtualization. Many third-party solutions such as Parallels and VMWare have brought the ability to run virtual operating system environments within OS X in the past, although with the implementation of native virtualization they will serve less of a purpose to OS X users (except those who wish to run Windows within OS X, as the native virtualization only supports sandboxed versions of OS X).
