Mac gains lead on PC market sales
A study by NPD on sales figures of PCs in brick and mortar stores shows that Mac units despite going beyond the $1000 price markup, is still gaining leads over the declining sales of Windows PC. In fact, Windows PC notebooks showed zero percent growth as compared to Apple notebooks which have gained a 50 to 60 percent growth for the first quarter of 2008. For the desktop PC sales category, Apple’s Mac units showed a 45% growth, despite the 25% decline in the overall market performance, which was reflected in the sales of Windows desktop PCs for the same period.
