Pioneer announces networked audio players with AirPlay support

Pioneer N-50

The N-30 ($499) and N-50 ($699) are equipped with AirPlay and DLNA 1.5 wireless technologies, allowing access to music stored in a variety of different sources, including Macs and Apple’s iOS devices. The networked audio players feature vTuner Internet radio, iPhone and Android control apps and a 2.5-inch full-color LCD display.

Pioneer “Taps” into AirPlay

Pioneer has already embraced Apple AirPlay with some of its products, and it’s now expanded support with the launch of two networked music systems called Music Tap. With the Pioneer and Elite branded models, users can access, control and play back their iTunes music library throughout their home or apartment regardless of where the music is stored.

Pioneer announces new AirPlay compatible Elite receivers

Let’s take a look back to last week, shall we, when Pioneer released their new SC home theater amplifiers. Why? Because they’re Internet radio and iPad, iPhone, and iPod compatible, and because we forgot to tell you about them. The new flagship SC-57 and SC-55 Elite receivers bring state-of-the-art audio and visual content performance into any room.

Pioneer releases speakers for laptops and desktops

Pioneer continues its push into our digital lives with the launch of two multi-media computer speaker systems. The new 2.0- and 2.1-channel computer speaker systems are “designed for music fans who want a higher level audio experience from their computer, whether it’s from a laptop, or a home computer.” So, I guess that’s pretty much all of us.

Pioneer’s in-vehicle AppRadio now available

There are many companies embracing the power and functionality iOS devices, but not many are doing it in the unique and practical ways of Pioneer. This week, the company released the AppRadio, an in-vehicle product that uses the iPhone or 4th generation iPod touch as the primary source for its information and entertainment capabilities.

Use apps in your car with Pioneer’s AppRadio

The marriage between the iPhone and…well…everything just keeps getting happier and happier. The latest example of this comes from Pioneer Electronics with their in-vehicle AppRadio, which utilizes the iPhone or iPod touch’s processing power, storage capacity, network connectivity and apps as the “primary source for its information and entertainment capabilities.” And as with your iDevice, the AppRaido has the industry’s first capacitive touchscreen with similar touch and motion gesture support, but in a 6.1-inch screen for safer in-vehicle operation. It also features built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and an input for an optional vehicle mounted rear facing back-up camera.

Pioneer extends Apple’s digital connectivity possibilities

Part of what gives Apple technology its power are the products that embrace it, and Pioneer Electronics (USA), Inc. has just added some extra punch. Their 2011 line of 5.1 and 7.1-channel audio video receivers offers support for Apple’s iDevices in varying degrees—including AirPlay—along with custom apps made for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Appletell reviews the iPhone/iPod compatible Pioneer VSX-819H A/V receiver

If you’re still looking for proof that the iPhone has revolutionized mobile devices, consider that A/V receivers for home entertainment systems now advertise themselves as being iPhone certified. Before the iPhone, the idea that you would want to connect your cell phone to your home theater system was just ridiculous. Now, it’s a feature I wouldn’t do without, and Pioneer has provided that functionality a fairly low price point.
