Using the PDF file format has, in the minds of some people, a significant disadvantage—the lack of ability to mark up the documents. Of course, that isn’t true. Mac users can make notes on a PDF, and you can do it without buying or downloading any special software. Just open the PDF in Preview and follow these steps.

What if you have a great image that is just in the wrong file format? For instance, you have a TIFF that needs to be a JPEG because your mom’s old e-mail program is having trouble reading it. An awesome VoIP client known as “fring” that was previously only available for PCs and other mobile phones has now been released for Apple’s iPhone (and iPod touch). Of course, only jailbroken iPhones will be able to run the unofficial third-party application, and its VoIP capabilities are only available over a WiFi network.

The developer of fring is labeling it as a “light, sneak preview R&D version” so it appears that they are only testing the functionality and observing the popularity of the application on jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches before the application is officially released once the iPhone 2.0 software update goes public.

MacRumors has picked up on a whole slew of Leopard videos that were posted to Brightcove. The article author believes that the screen captures were taken with Snapz Pro X, as the newest update brings support for Leopard.
