E-Gear reviews the Scosche boomCAN Portable Media Speakers
Have you had it with your built-in laptop speakers? Or worse, how about that speaker in your iPad? Our friends over at E-Gear feel the same way, and that’s why they took a look at the Scosche boomCAN Portable Media Speakers. Coming in at $24.99, these portable speakers feature a 40mm driver that pumps out a big sound despite the relatively small size.
bandEDGE g4 edge case for iPhone 4 review
I’m beginning to think it’s just impossible to make a decent iPHone 4 edge (or bumper) case. This is unfortunate, because I’m a fan of skins, and a good bumper could really complement the look while adding a solid layer of protection. Instead, they’ve all been disappointing for one reason or another (or more). And unfortunately, I have to say the same of Scosche’s bandEDGE g4.
Scosche SneakPEEK II AV Adapter Review
Apple makes component, composite, RGB and HDMI adapters, but they don’t make a component/composite adapter. Scosche does. Why would you want an adapter that can’t decide which format it likes better? Sometimes more choices are better, especially when you don’t always know what kind of inputs the display you’re forced into using will have. Scosche’s SneakPEEK II will work with just about any display and will give you higher quality when you have the inputs for it.
iPad 2 case announcement roundup [updated]
Apple has finally announced the iPad 2, and you know what that means…case manufacturers are racing to let you know they’ve got your new device covered. That iPad Smart Cover may look nice, after all, but it doesn’t offer much for functionality and nothing to protect the back of your iPad 2. So, here are the first alternatives out of the gate…
Appletell reviews Scosche kickBACK case for iPhone 4
The Schosche kickBACK is a hard shell iPhone case (polycarbonate exterior with a shock resistant rubber interior) with a gimmick: it has a kickstand—a folding leg (on a metal hinge) that props up the iPhone in landscape mode. The case is sturdy, if a little plain. It wraps around the iPhone in one piece with the volume buttons and mute switch exposed.
iPod case product announcements
At their September 1st media event, Apple updated every iPod in the product line (save for the lonely, forgotten classic). That, of course, means new cases. Plenty of them. And the developers have been quick to issue press releases about that they’ll be making available, and when. As they come in, we’ll round them all up here so you can be ready to go when your new iPods touch, nano and/or shuffle arrive.
Appletell reviews Scosche IDR655m headphones
Apple’s iDevice earbud headphones are not commendable for their audio quality or their durability, so audiophiles looking for the convenience of inline remote controls and microphones had to sacrifice sound quality. No longer. Scosche’s tapLINEII remote and impressive audio performance deliver functionality surpassed only by the brilliant sound these earbuds crank out.
Appletell reviews the reviveLITE II Docking Charger for iPhone/iPod
The main feature I look for in an iPhone dock is just how far out of the way it can get. I don’t connect my iPhone to my MacBook by habit, but rather just when I’m syncing. The charge can happen overnight, and that’s what makes Scosche’s reviveLITE II – Docking Travel Charger for iPod & iPhone such a great solution. You plug it into a wall outlet, flip open the front, dock your iPhone or iPod, and head off to bed. Good night.
iPhone 4 case product announcements, round 2
iPhone 4 pre-orders start today. Are you ready with a case? You will likely be able to pre-order the new iPhone 4 Bumpers from Apple, but are you going to trust your new iDevice to such a sparse design? Personally, I’ll be going with one of the myriad companies with years of experience iPhone case protection. Here are a few more developers to tell you about the options you’ll have.
Appletell reviews Scosche’s tapSTICK for iPod shuffle
Scosche’s tapSTICK for the iPod shuffle attempts to fix the biggest problem with Apple’s super miniature MP3 player: the controls/headphones. The tapSTICK takes the controls that started out on the headphone cable and moves them back onto the device. Or rather, on a case that slides over one side of the device. And I’m so glad that it does. The tapSTICK is moisture resistant, and it allows you to use any set of headphones that you want to.
