Siri served as an iOS app (called Siri Assistant) before it became an integrated feature in the upcoming iPhone 4S. Siri Assistant was a free download from the App Store, but has now been pulled by Apple as the iPhone 4S launch approaches. Those who own a copy of the app will still be able to use it until October 15th when it will stop functioning, and Siri will solely become a feature on the iPhone 4S.

It’s another great week for iDevice apps. But really, what week isn’t? This week it’s all about Siri, your new personal assistant. It will find movie times, make restaurant reservations, and even help you buy tickets for whenever your favorite band is coming to town. And all you have to do is tell it what you want, verbally.
