Snow Leopard to have built-in antivirus?
With Snow Leopard set to release this Friday, August 28th, many Apple fans are excited to both try it out and get some space back on their hard drive. Also, if you’re like me, you don’t really care that it doesn’t include any great, new features as long as it promises to be as stable and fast as Apple promises. However, one thing that would be extremely interesting to see at any point in time is Apple-developed antivirus built into the operating system. And that’s the rumor.
WWDC: Apple unveils Snow Leopard details
In other news from this years WWDC, Apple has given more details of Snow Leopard. However, they also managed to bash not only Windows Vista as usual, but Windows 7 as well, saying it still has the same registry issues, among other things. That said, Snow Leopard sounds like it is going to be really awesome. Best of all? It will be released in September for only $29.
New screenshots and videos of Snow Leopard leaked
New leaked screen shots and videos posted on a Portuguese website showcase some of the new features we will be seeing in Mac OS X v10.6. Snow Leopard has been noted for being mostly a stability build to make Mac OS X more dependable, as well as slimming down its size. Therefore, most of the new features that are being added aren’t necessarily groundbreaking, but they are interesting nonetheless. Details and video past the jump.
The Onion compares Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Windows 7
Neither Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Microsoft Windows 7 have been released to the public yet. They both promise to be a nice improvement from that last release of each OS and offer some interesting new capabilities. Despite not being on the market yet, The Onion decided that now would be a good time to compare them and see how they do against each other in some very important aspects.
