Code within the iOS 5.1 Beta points to a Sprint iPad?
After the new iOS 5.1 beta was released to developers, code was found that references a new iPad model. The string of code that was spotted shows an “iPad2,4″. In addition some code points to a newer version of the iPad: models “iPad3,1″ and “iPad3,2″. The current iPad models are referred to as 2,1 through 2,3, so the developer who found the code suggests a possible updated iPad model with a commercial launch sometime early next year.
Sprint may have the greatest case idea yet
According to information revealed from a recent FCC filing, Sprint may have plans to release an iPod Touch case that would turn it into a full 3G-to-Wi-Fi hotspot. This ZTE device would function a lot like a Mifi or similar device in that it would use Sprint’s 3G network to bring data to the iPod Touch in the form of a hotspot wherever it goes. However, it would also perhaps even allow other devices to connect to the hotspot to serve as an internet hub for devices other than just the iPod touch.
Sprint to launch WiMax network
Sprint will be “soft-launching” there new WiMax network later this week. Named mysteriously as XOHM, this network will function much like using the internet over the 3G cell network, except this network is a lot less expensive, and is open to any device.
