Free Apps Roundup for July 22, 2011
A long time ago, in a ranch not quite that far away, George Lucas finally decided Blu-Ray had been out long enough to ensure its ability to receive Star Wars. The wait isn’t quite over yet, but you can get a sneak peak with the newest Star Wars iPad app. Also, if your wait for a Google+ invite is over, you’ll be happy to download the official app for iPhone. And there’s so much more on this week’s list. Check it out.
Free apps update for Dec 10th, 2010
This week is all about games. Games, games, games and more games. In fact, I only managed to find three notable apps that aren’t games this week, one of which is a utility for keeping score…likely in some sort of game. But no worries, because games are awesome. And what better way to waste your weekend away? That’s right. Let’s get to it.
Free apps update for August 20th, 2010
As usual, this week’s list is chock full of appy goodness. There are shopping apps, games, utilities and the ever-popular limited time freebies. See if you can’t find something useful this week amongst the talking toilets, bubble shooting canons, and AT-ATs. If you prefer for your guns to be realistic, we’ve got that covered, too. And speaking of guns, FOX news makes an appearance.
Appletell reviews Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition
The problem with the Jedi is that they’re hypocrites. They kill, they’re trained to kill, they carry quite possibly the greatest hand-to-hand weapon ever imagined, but we collectively pretend they’re really pacifists who kill thousands of Stormtroopers in defense. And they say they feel kinda bad about it (when asked). The Force Unleashed gets around this rather neatly by making you a Sith apprentice. Specifically, you’re Darth Vader’s apprentice, being trained by him to assassinate the Emperor.
Forget the iPhone, bring on the Mac games
It’s a rare moment these days when I get to talk to about Mac games. As major Mac game publishers continue to fade into the ether or shift their focus to the iPhone, Mac gaming has found itself in a rut nearly as deep the one from which we barely escaped in the late 90s. But a few companies have recently thrown us a rope in the form of new product releases or major announcements. Do the names Warhammer, Sid Meier, and Star Wars mean anything to you?
