The new MacBook Air advertisement shows the MacBook Air being taken out of a regular manila envelope, to show it’s extremely thin size.

A confident Mac megasite confirms MacBook Nano

Mac Megasite’s Mike confidently says that “the MacBook Nano is go” at MacWorld. The post, if legitimate, also gives meaning to the MacWorld posters stating that “there’s something in the air.” Mike state that the new MacBook Nano sub-notebook will utilize something called “beam technology” to transfer data wirelessly even faster than Bluetooth. This is most likely the WiMax long range wireless technology that Apple may expand across it’s entire MacBook Pro lineup. According to the post, this could be the “Something in the air.”

Sub-Notebook Mockup Roundup

Let’s start with the newest rumor to the game: the iMac-like docking station. Here, flickr user macbooktouchmebaby has posted his/her mockup of the MacBook Nano and the Docking Station. MacBooktouchmebaby shows the MacBook as a tablet, though if it were in fact a tablet it is more likely that the tablet’s screen would serve as the desktop screen as well, with the iMac shell as more of a holder.

MacWorld 2008 Rumor Roundup

With just a week before MacWorld, we’re hearing rumors left and right about what Apple will be upgrading and releasing. Well we decided to compiles a list of rumors from various sites, and give our opinion on the likelihood of those rumors actually becoming reality.

Very Likely

Mac OS X 10.5.2- A list of 75 fixes adorns the latest builds of 10.5.2. The feature we have heard most about is the semi-fixed stacks: users are now able to display a list view, and essentially turn off stacks altogether. Displaying the folder icon instead of contents is also an option.via [Mac Rumors, Engadget, Appletell, Macenstien]

Photo of the rumored Subnotebook?

Could this be a photo of the rumored ultra-portable laptop to be released at MacWorld? You never know…

This image, posted to a MacRumors forum thread by a brand new user “greenrabbit,” depicts a current generation MacBook Pro alongside a much thinner, but otherwise identical notebook, save for that wonderfully horrible-looking (multi-touch?) trackpad.

Macworld Transcripts Leaked?

Supposedly, transcripts for the Stevenote at Macworld this January have been leaked, though there are two of them, and they arequite a bit different. It is very likely that these are fake, though they do express what most Mac fans are wanting and expecting this Macworld.

Transcript number one lays out a Mac Mini update in the form of a Mac Nano, “a redesigned Mac Mini that is approximately half the height of its predecessor and in an anodized aluminum shell to match recent design changes in the Apple lineup.” The Mac Nano will be available in a 2.0 and 2.2 GHz version with 32 or 64 GB SSD, and the option to use a conventional hard drive, up to 160 GB, all 5400 rpm. The Nano will be shipping in February.

MacWorld 2008: Mac Notebook Predictions

This is part two of a five part series leading up to MacWorld. MacBook Pro- The MacBook Pro is a really good computer right now as it is. I think we may see bigger Hard Drive sizes, but other than that, there’s not much more than a price drop that we can hope for. Not more »
