T-Mobile to expand support for unlocked iPhones on its network

Even though T-Mobile does not officially carry the iPhone, the carrier has more than a million owners of the (unlocked) iDevice on its network, which would definitely justify expanding its support for it. A leaked employee memo from the carrier, entitled “iPhone Scope of Support” (pictured above), details that they plan to implement this support expansion on January 30th.

T-Mobile now offering Micro SIM cards

After T-Mobile revealed last month that they had over a million iPhones on their network, despite the fact that users had to modify their SIM cards in order to be able to use their iPhone with the carrier, they have now officially released their Micro SIM cards, making the iPhone along with other GSM smartphones officially compatible with the T-Mobile’s network.

Rumor: iPhone getting second US carrier…T-Mobile?

According a new rumor circulating the web, talks between Apple and T-Mobile are at an “advanced stage,” and it is 80 percent likely that the best-selling smartphone will be brought to T-Mobile in this very fiscal quarter. This information comes from a high ranking source within T-Mobile, who wished not to be quoted directly and to remain anonymous. T-Mobile is owned by Deutsche Telekom—the carrier of the iPhone in Germany—which has reportedly been a factor in these talks.

First real iPhone 3G unlock appears
