Telltale announces new episodes of Monkey Island Tales for iPhone
Be it called Monkey Island Tales or Tales of Monkey Island, Telltale’s latest adventure in the Monkey Island franchise has been around for Mac and iPad since early 2010. They recently moved it over to the iPhone with the release of Monkey Island Tales 1 in November, and have now announced the release of episode 2, The Siege of Spinner Cay, with episode 3, Lair of the Leviathan, to hit the App Store on December 22nd.

There was a period in computer gaming where all you needed for a good adventure were some pirates, plenty of root beer and a bunch of monkeys. Between Telltale Games and Aspyr’s recent re-releases and new Monkey Island adventures, those days recently returned to the Macintosh. And now, with Tales of Monkey Island 1 HD, Telltale has brought them to the iPad.

At Macworld Expo 2010, Telltale games officially announced their foray into Mac gaming with Tales of Monkey Island. Likely, it couldn’t have been a better choice of games; it’s a franchise familiar to Mac gamers, it harkens back to a time when Mac ports were commonplace, and it’s a comic adventure that appeals to both casual and serious gamers. Two of us here at Appletell have played through the game, so we decided to have a quick chat about how this new episodic adventure turned out.
Macworld 2010: Appletell returns to Monkey Island with Telltale Games
As the good folks over at Gamertell reported today, it’s now official; Telltale Games has begun releasing their entire game catalog on the Macintosh. We had the opportunity to speak with Telltale CEO, director and founder Dan Connors about why they’re now embracing the Mac, and with designer/programmer Mark Darin about his work on Tales of Monkey Island. Telltale Games at Macworld Expo; Wallace and Gromit, too?
Earlier this month, the good folks at Gamertell got word that Telltale Games would soon be releasing its entire lineup of games for the Macintosh. We haven’t heard much about this rumor since, but our inside source has pointed out that Telltale is now officially listed as an exhibitor at Macworld Expo 2010. Telltale’s current PC lineup includes the Sam & Max series, Tales of Monkey Island, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, Bone and Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures.
