Free apps update for January 14th, 2010

Now that CES is over, we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming. That means the free apps list is back! And thankfully, this week it’s packed full. Whether you want to watch PBS, keep track of data, get back in shape, find deals on Amazon or just play some pinball, it’s all in the list. Check it out…

Appletell reviews Pinball HD for iPad

What we’ve learned from Gameprom’s Pinball HD is that pinball makes much more sense on the iPad than on the iPhone. In fact, it makes much more sense than on the computer. Their forthcoming app—Pinball Remote—allows you to use your iPhone for flipper and plunger control on the pending Mac versions of their popular iPhone apps.

Free apps roundup for October 23rd, 2009

Gamers rejoice; this is the week for free games. Racing, pinball, finger running, what else could you possibly want? I know…an RPN calculator! And to top it all off, VW announced their 2010 GTI with a special version of Real Racing. I know you’ll find some fun stuff in my list this week…

App it Up: The Deep Pinball

The Deep Pinball is quite possibly the best pinball sim currently available for the iPhone. It has a fun, imaginative playing field that faithfully replicates the kind you can still find in truck stops and bowling alleys across the country. The graphics are attractive, the audio is authentic (although I could do without all the talking), and—most importantly—the gameplay feels natural. It should appeal not only to pinball fans, but also to those looking for a new quick-game option.
