Rumor: Apple testing touch screen Macs

According to a Taiwanese industry publication, Sintek Photronics has sent touch screen modules to Apple for testing in iMacs with screens sizes 20 inches and larger. The report also said that this company would be the likely supplier for the touch screens if Apple does eventually release some sort of touch screen Mac. While a 2010 launch date isn’t very likely, there is obviously a chance it could happen in the future if Apple figures out a good way to do it. As it stands now, using a touch screen on a Mac would be somewhat awkward.

New touch screen rumors; 22″ touch iMac on the horizon?

As if the rumors surrounding the January 27th Apple event weren’t enough already, another one has surfaced for later this year. According to a Chinese publication accessed by DigiTimes, “Apple will outsource production of the 22-inch model to Quanta, with Taiwan-based Sintek Photronic supplying the touchscreen panels.” This certainly doesn’t sound like the rumored 10″ iTablet.

More rumors surface on Apple tablet (excuse the pun)

It seems as if almost every time there is an Apple announcement coming up, more rumors of a Mac tablet show up. This time around, TechCrunch is reporting that they have heard from OEMs and people who have held prototypes that a 10 inch Mac Tablet and/or large iPhone is on the way. According to them, the price point for this product will be anywhere from $500 to $1,000 and “the project is very real.”
