FIFA Soccer 12 now available on OS X for $39.99

TransGaming and Electronic Arts’ popular soccer game for PC and consoles,FIFA Soccer 12, is now also available for OS X. This marks the first time that the FIFA series has been made available for Macs, a move a lot of game publishers have been making lately. Compared to FIFA 12′s console versions, all other platforms—including OS X—are priced lower; the Mac version is only $39.99 while console gamers are coughing up $59.99 for their copies.

The Path for Mac OS X review

The Path is a unique title. It is based on the idea of the classic children’s tale, Little Red Riding Hood. Your goal is to take the many girls you have to play with on the path to grandmothers house, and stay on the path. In an interesting twist, if you follow the rules of the game, you will fail, and play a very boring game. Your real job is to explore the game’s world by wandering through the woods and seeing what can be found, and there is a lot to be found. A series of dessicated ruins dot the land.

Appletell reviews Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister for Mac OS X

In this mystery, Nancy is seeking a possible sabateur of a competition to discover a formula to predict tornado touchdowns. It’s a good setup, really, as the backdrop of potentially deadly storms (and the metaphor that brings) makes for an interesting setting for mystery and intrigue. Throughout her investigations, Nancy will meet some quirky and suspicisous characters, piece together many clues, and play quite a few mini-games.

Ubisoft makes a deal with Transgaming; more games coming to the Mac

Following in the footsteps of Electronic Arts, Ubisoft has signed a deal with Trangaming to wrap their titles in Cider and port them to the Mac. The news has already received mixed reviews. The list of Cider games for the Mac is underwhelming, and it really hasn’t proven itself when it comes to Mac games.

When I heard the news, I was excited. Ubisoft has a lot of game titles that I would love to play on my Mac: Prince of Persia, Assassins Creed, Far Cry 2, and Beyond Good and Evil (which is currently in the pre-development stage.

My initial excitement took an unexpected nosedive when I logged onto the Transgaming website. Find out why after the break.

Mac Games: TransGaming has launched GameTree

Although I enjoy playing video games, I really don’t get a chance to play them as much as I would like. Priorities such as family, work, and life in general always get in the way. But when I have a chance for some personal time, one of my luxuries is to completely immerse myself in a game. I normally play FPS on my Xbox 360 (Gears of War, Bioshock, and Mass Effect are some of my favorites) and occasionally I’ll play them on my 17″ MacBook Pro. I recently heard about a new Mac gaming portal, as TransGaming has recently launched GameTree.

There are a lot of Windows based PC gaming websites online, and now GameTree Online is planning to offer similar features for Mac users. We already have Mac gaming websites that offer similar services, but I’m always happy to see more. Mac gamers will have the chance to download Mac games and write reviews about them. Also, Mac gamers will have the chance to check up on the latest gaming news and participate in a variety of promotional activities.

Details after the break.
