How to use Airplay on your Mac
Chances are good that you’ve been itching to use AirPlay, but not quite enough to buy a new Apple TV. Thanks to Erica Sudan, there is another way (for now at least). She’s been “spending far, far too much time reverse engineering Airplay.” And thankfully, she’s been kind enough to share her application, AirPlayer, with the world.
Numerous iPad 2 case images leaked
It’s that time of year again, the time when we start ramping up for the next versions of our favorite gadgets. First up is iPad. Images of numerous cases have been leaked online that appear to be designed for what we’ll call iPad 2. Notable differences include a hole for a back facing camera and an extra large opening on the back bottom left side. The purpose of the latter opening? I have a few ideas…
New iMacs and Mac Minis By October 9th?
If you’re in the market for a new iMac or Mac Mini, you’d be well advised to hold on for a week or two more. Reports from around the web all point to a refresh of both the iMac and Mac Mini by October 9th. So, what do we know? Not a whole lot actually. So far, all we really know is that retailers are extremely low in stock of iMacs and Mac Minis. Apple has instructed retailers that orders of these machines will not be filled now.
Next iPhone named? iPhone Video?
If you’ve saved up both money and vacation time just to be able to purchase the next generation iPhone, then you’ll be excited to hear the name given to the object of your blind affection. According to an anonymous tip to TUAW, Apple’s next generation of iPhone will be named “iPhone Video.” Along with the tip came the screenshot above of what appears to be an AT&T device support page. While it looks real, this is among the easiest of images to fake.

Pixelmator in private beta
Pixelmator, the delicious generation photo editor (think Photoshop), after much hype has finally gone into private beta. I was lucky enough to be one of the lucky people who have gotten in on the beta so far. I can’t post any screenshots/information yet until the final version is released, but I will say I like more »
