Update your Mac’s Twitter client

If you’re a Twitter user, you’ve probably got Tweetie installed on your Mac. The most popular of Mac Twitter clients, there’s been quite a history around it. As you probably know, Twitter has put a lot of time into updating their mobile application for the iPhone and iPad. Therefore, the Mac client sort of lagged behind. However, with the launch of the Mac App Store, that has changed. Already the top free app at the time this was written, Twitter for Mac has now been updated to version 2.0.

Twitterers rejoice, for this is your week. Twitter now has their own official app that goes by the same name. And they did it the right way; they bought the best app out there—Tweetie 2—and made it free for all. But that’s not all, I have a bunch of other apps on the list this week to keep your home pages full.

Appletell reviews Tweetie for Mac OS X

Tweetie for Mac was officially released earlier this week, and it has turned out to be just as popular as the iPhone version. There are currently two versions available for the app: ad supported or not. However, the ads in the free version can be turned off. When it comes to Twitter clients, Tweetie is as feature packed as it comes; from @replies to direct messages and search, it has it all.
