Appletell reviews Droplr for OS X
Droplr is a drag and drop utility for sharing links, images, notes, and files. It’s focused on Twitter, but once you get a file into Droplr, you can use it anywhere. Once the app is installed and activated with Twitter, Droplr lives in your menu bar. You can drag any kind of file onto the icon and it will automatically be uploaded to your personal Droplr webspace (up to the default limit of 1 GB).
Track your links with Tr.im
There are a multitude of URL shortening services out there, but Tr.im offers a unique feature; if you register (for free), you can create unique shortened URLs and get statistics about how many clicks you get, plus other standard user info such as platform, date, and whether it was a human or a bot—all extremely useful for people using things like Twitter for business purposes (or just info junkies such as myself).
Appletell reviews Twitterlink and Twitfire for iPhone, iPod touch
“What are you doing right now?” That’s the basic question of Twitter, but sometimes simply telling people isn’t enough; sometimes you need to show them via a link or a photo. And the two Twitter clients reviewed here make sharing that information even easier. Much like JustUpdate, these programs are focused on posting information, neither one is set up to let you read other people’s Twitter feeds, or even your own Following page. Both work with the iPhone and iPod touch, and both are free.
