Blue Microphones has announced the Radius, a vintage-style suspension mount for Yeti and Yeti Pro microphones. It’s designed, like every shockmount, to isolate your Yeti from ambient vibrations to further enhance recording quality. Samson Meteor Mic now available

You have an iPad or iPad 2 and you’ve been loving GarageBand, but you need a better way of capturing audio than the built in mic. Sound familiar? Samson has a great solution, the Meteor Mic. It’s a large condenser USB microphone that works with nearly anything with a USB port, including the iPad with a Camera Connection Kit USB adapter. The Meteor Mic is now available at all Best Buy locations for $99.

Yeti Pro USB and XLR microphone review

What do you get when you take an already great microphone, turn up the quality to uncompromising levels and add every feature you could possibly need or think of? Blue’s Yeti Pro is the answer to that winning combination. Yeti Pro starts with the original Yeti, an already amazing microphone, and adds a stereo XLR output and support for 24-bit recording, among other things. It’s hard to believe it only costs $100 more than the original Yeti.

CES 2011: Blue Microphones announces the Yeti Pro USB and XLR mic

Blue Microphones has announced Yeti Pro, with a recording resolution of 24 bit/192 kHz, making it the highest digital resolution microphone on the market. It connects over USB like the original Yeti, but also has an XLR output for expanded usability and a cool black exterior to set it apart visually. Now you can have the best of both the digital and analog worlds with one microphone. The Yeti Pro will be available in February at an MSRP of $249.

How to record CD quality audio with your iPad

Apple’s iPad camera connection kit is finally available in stores and it’s useful for more than just importing photos. With it, you can connect some keyboards and some audio devices such as headsets. But why stop there? What’s stopping you from using the USB adapter to connect a Blue Yeti or other high quality microphone to your iPad and recording CD quality audio? Nothing actually.

Appletell reviews the Samson G-Track USB microphone

Choosing the right tools to capture audio can be difficult. An audio interface is flexible in that it can accept instruments and/or microphones—possibly at the same time—and likely separate them to individual tracks. Samson might not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of USB mics, but with microphones like the G-Track, they’re getting closer.

Appletell webcam shootout: Blue Eyeball 2.0 vs IPEVO P2V

iSights come standard on every new Mac except the Mac mini, but there are various reasons why you’d want to look elsewhere for your webcam needs. Perhaps you need a higher resolution, more placement flexibility, or even a better microphone. These just begin to indicate why I took a look at the Blue Eyeball 2.0 and the IPEVO P2V.

Appletell reviews Samson’s Go Mic

The Samson Go mic has most all of your mobile microphone needs covered. While an internal microphone might be a small step forward for recording ease, the Samson Go mic is a giant leap forward for quality. The Samson Go mic is a portable mic designed to attach to your notebook (or sit on your desk) and provide the best audio quality available in a tiny package.
