iPad hitting Verizon and AT&T stores on October 28th

There you go. After becoming the all time fastest selling gadget (as announced by Bernstein Research financial analyst Colin McGranahan), Apple will carry the iPad momentum to the store shelves of AT&T and Verizon Wireless. Both major carriers have officially announced they will start offering iPads to customers on October 28.

Wall Street Journal says CDMA iPhone being produced for Verizon

“Apple, Inc. is making a version of its iPhone that Verizon Wireless will sell early next year,” reads the Wall Street Journal quite confidently. While we certainly have seen this Verizon iPhone rumor before, it sounds quite nice coming from the Wall Street Journal. With the end of an exclusive deal with AT&T coming up, as well as increased competition from Google’s Android platform on all the carriers, this would undoubtedly be a good move for Apple.

An open letter to the Verizon “There’s a Map for That” ads

First, let me congratulate you on a fairly witty pun-based ad campaign. You’re making a point, and with quite a bit of gumption, given the lack of cool smartphones available on your larger-than-life network. Second, I’ll acknowledge our past relationship; nine good years with excellent coverage and several fairly decent phones. You still insist on sending me flyers trying to lure me back, but I’m just not that into you right now. And here’s why…

Verizon possibly already testing the iPhone 4G on its 4G LTE network

Verizon Wireless has already announced they are expecting to see Apple’s iPhone on their 4G network next year. Now, the rumor is that Verizon and Apple are already working together in testing the new iPhone (probably a prototype) on Verizon’s 4G Long Term Evolution network. It’s being reported that Verizon Wireless’ CEO, Lowell McAdam, has made several visits to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, and that Apple is indeed testing a CDMA iPhone on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

iPhone only a matter of time in Vermont

We’ve got our syrup and our yearly foliage here in Vermont, and now, much to the happiness of many residents, we will soon be able to add the iPhone to that list. As a Vermont resident, I have been very disappointed with our certain lack of iPhones, causing us to go to through the hassle of using an out-of-state address. But, that may not be an issue in the near future. Recent progression in an inter-carrier deal here in the 802 show that the iPhone’s arrival to our fine state is no longer a matter of “if,” but rather “when.”

Details after the break.
