Vudu cuts set-top box price

Vudu is one of Apple TV’s main rivals – one that made it on to Steve’s slide of those who “failed” to get movie rentals right. Vudu has just cut the price of their basic version by over $100 – bringing it to $295. The price cut has commenced today, but anyone who bought the box in the last 30 days is entitled to a $100 movie credit. Surely, this is a reaction to the Apple TV take 2. Although, even with this price cut, the Vudu basic version is still more expensive than the Apple TV. Apple TV prices start at $229 for the 40GB version.
