Free Apps Roundup for November 11th, 2011
Ever wanted to know more about a product while you’re browsing in a store? Of course you have, and now, thanks to Amazon, there’s an app for that. All you need is an iPhone and Flow. But maybe you don’t want to be shopping, since it’s not Black Friday yet anyway. Maybe you want to be wasting your time away with games. Well, there’s plenty of that below. Enjoy.
WalMart to carry Verizon iPhone 4 starting February 10th
Walmart has announced they’ll be carrying the Verizon iPhone 4 on launch day in select stores. So, if you’re wanting to get your hands on a Verizon iPhone 4, you’ll be able to do so by lining up at one of the nearly 600 Walmart locations across the country on February 10th, 2010. These specific stores will also carry Verizon iPhone 4 accessories (remember, cases may not necessarily be the same as GSM iPhone 4 cases). I’d recommend you get there early if you want one.
Where, when and how to get iPhone 4
Pre-orders for iPhone 4 start tomorrow, and demand will likely be high. That means you should figure out where, when and how you’ll be getting your hands on the next generation iPhone. Pre-order or drop day? Online or retail? Delivery or in-store pickup? Black or white? Past the break are the details for Apple, AT&T, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and WalMart.
16GB iPhone 3GS now only $97 at WalMart
WalMart continues its aggressive “rollback” pricing with its lowest iPhone price offer yet. Starting today, the 16GB iPhone 3GS is selling new for only $97. That’s a savings of $100, but you’ll still need to buy into AT&T’s 2-year contract, of course. Also note that this is an online price, but you can’t actually buy the phone online. “In-store prices vary from online prices” WalMart.com warns, so you’ll need to head to your local store to find out what your actual savings will be.
Walmart creates iPhone specific website, further pushes current trend
Taking the old route, Walmart has decided to create an iPhone-ready website for their company instead of an actual iPhone app such as Amazon and Target have. With a nice interface and the ability to browse through Walmarts entire catalog in a site created specifically for the iPhone, it can be a great help. You are also able to fill your cart—which Walmart is calling a “Shopping Cart”—through the site, which can be useful. On top of that, you can also search the $4 prescriptions that the company offers. Although this news in and of itself isn’t very exciting, it does show another company following along a trend that I am seeing to be more relevant each and every day.
iPhone to take another step down, be sold at Wal-Mart
Apple is looking to expand the iPhone’s reach as far as it can this holiday season. Not long after announcing that Best Buy would become the first non-Apple or AT&T store to sell the iPhone, Wal-Mart is next in line to sell the iPhone, according to Boy Genius Report. Wal-Mart doesn’t quite jive with Apple’s more »
iTunes 3rd largest music retailer
That’s right, according for first quarter 2007 reports, the Apple iTunes store has boosted it’s sales to become the 3rd largest music retailer in the US. Apple is now sitting ahead of Amazon at 9.8% of all music purchases, close behind Best Buy and Walmart. The findings also show that an astonishing 86.2% of all more »
